I'm offering a single specimen of this eastern US native orchid. Plant is currently in a 4" round plastic nursery pot, but for shipping purposes it will be removed. I will send it bare root or with the loose media at the winner's discretion. Although it's flowers aren't very showy, the dark...
Hey everyone,
I'm much more of a lurker on this forum but thought that this would be worth posting.
My male N. clipeata is coming into flower and was really hoping to find a female to produce species seed. I would love to send pollen to anyone that owns a female whether it is in flower or...
After being away from my plants for a few months, this is what I came home to:
My Utricularia amethystina flowered! Unfortunately I missed a few flowers of other species while I was away.
Hi all,
Bought a curious looking plant from a local nursery the other day. It's soft to the touch and so are the spikes on the plant as well. I have never seen this before and it produces the crazies looking flowers. They look just like starfish :0o:
Anyone know what this is?
Thanks!
Feel free to move this thread if its in the wrong space. There was no 'questions about terrariums' section here. X)
So, I already have a 10 gallon fish tank that is empty and needs some sort of life form in it.But I think little terrariums to put on my window ledges would be nice too, since I...

I tried cross pollinating some pings for the first time and it worked! Two out of the three flowers I pollinated are developing seed. The seeds will have the following parentage: Pinguicula ['Aphrodite' (agnata x moctezumae) x (laueana (CP2) x emarginata)-Vic's Clone]
My iPhone wouldn't let me...
Last summer, again, I put my P. emarginata "Eric Green" on the north side of the house outside. Again the plant is producing seed pods. I still didn't see a pollinator. Years ago before I tried putting it outside I tried selfing the flowers. That didn't work. Apologies if the picture is annoying...
This little stinker, Liparis reflexa, is starting its flowering this year. There are two inflorescences so the resulting scent will be delightful as they open their flowers :awesome:. I can't help feeling that from a certain angle the plant is trying to tell me something.
Hybrid sarracenia seed are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. I am clearing out my “seed vault” and up for grabs are sarracenia seed collected from my bog plants last year. These are either selfed or cross-pollinated with a different variety by nature (bumble...
Sarracenia rosea seed
Sarracenia rosea seed collected from my plant Oct. 2015.
Price is for one packet of 15 seeds and includes shipping in a padded envelope. If ordering more than one packet, each additional packet price is only $7 each. If you are interested in buying multiple packets...
Hey everyone. Its been a few months since I have been active here. Its time for me to give back to the community! I will be doing two giveaways.
The first one is for people that are NEW to the hobby, seasoned veterans probably dont want these plants anyway heh. Requirements are that you have...
Spring is here, I'm getting lots of new growth and the sarras are sending up flowers so I'm trying to pollinate them. In the process of doing so the cotton bud I was using to pick up the pollen managed to get some kind of clear jelly on it. Apart from being clear it was very thick, but not...
Well I grow two different types of passion flower. Passiflora incarnata and p. Caerulea. The p. Caerulea does ever flower, but produces beautiful foliage so I don't mind. My p. Incarnata is at the end of its first year of growth and had a flower, now is producing a fruit with , I hope, viable...
I was at someone's house a few days ago and noticed a large plant with flowers that looked nightshade related. I was told the plant is Nicotania. It had several large sticky leaves with a lot of fungus gnats stuck to them. The leaves were sticky but not mucilaginous like a sundew. Has anyone...
This giveaway consists of some tropical and subtropical plants. NONE of these are reliably hardy for me here in zone 7A.
1. Approximately 12" of stem of Ludwigia sedioides, with extensive roots and at least 2 rosettes. Needs shallow water, from approx 6" to 12",
perhaps slightly...
I decided to give these annual flowers a try this year and they performed beyond my expectations, producing massive quantities of seed. The only problem is that I'm unsure if these are a hybrid of some kind, so I don't yet know if the seed will grow true or at all.
To qualify, all I ask is that...
This Utric was sent to me under the wrong ID about oh 10 years ago and it has never flowered for me or anyone I've sent it too. Pretty easy grower, probably needs repotting or something. Very likely U. tricolor but without flowers...
Continental US only and we don't ship to CA anymore...
About a week ago I got back from a trip to Hawaii, the big island, where we visited a Nepenthes nursery (can I name it here?). It was amazing and so big and full of awesome plants that we spent about 3 and a half hours there. Here's a bunch of pics I took before it started raining. Some of the...
