Hello
I got into carnivorous plants a few months ago (3?) and am fortunate to live in a great place for it. The tap water here is so good there is no need to buy distilled water. I attended my first meeting of the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society recently.
At my local nursery I had picked...
Come and get 'em! It is difficult to do this, but I will be moving soon, and I don't want the headache of trying to take my plants with me. I have been growing nepenthes for almost 30 years and have many healthy and vigorous plants left in my collection, so here is an opportunity to get some...
In the Chatbox, I was told that 85F is too high for most highlanders. That became apparent to me when it got into the mid eighties. The pitchers on my N. boschiana x mira and my N. jacquelineae wilted. All of the other highlanders are as normal.
Just curious about what highland species can...

Thought I'd start a new thread since I just got a bunch of new Nepenthes with a veitchi k on the way and a veitchi candy striped not too far behind.
Heres some pics of the HL chamber with its new fogger which hopefully won't die... as you can see its gotten pretty jam packed so if anyone knows...
Feel free to add pics if you got them...I was too fascinated I really didn't get enough XD.

Which Nepenthes should I choose to move first out to my greenhouse? My newest addition has spent its entire life with me (1 week) in the greenhouse. I just moved out my N. x 'Ventrata'. I want to be strategic about this so that if one does poorly with the move, I won't move another that does...
So I'm not much of a photographer and my camera is just a point and shoot, but I still like taking pictures. And something that I've noticed I really love doing is tweaking with interesting pictures and turning them into mirror images. Maybe I'm just crazy but some of these I think turned out...

Hey!
So, I'm just recovering from a year-long, near catastrophic bout with pests of various sorts, from that Hawaiin white scale to thrips to munching caterpillar things, and so on. I attribute it to the long-term use of fertilizers with indoor tray-based growing and hand watering, but that's...

I'm feeling a little antsy and I'm also running out of space. I know I will need to get rid of some plants soon so I figured I would throw it out there already and see if there are any biters. I have very limited space and this is really the beginning of me down-sizing my entire collection so...

When I grow up, I'm going to marry Nepenthes campanulata. Just ask Exo
In any case, my conditions are too chilly for just straight-up N. campanulata so I grow its hybrids and omg  they're pretty too! Here's some pics (not all recent - but definitely pretty)!
N. "Caladium" =...
This is one of my favorite hybrids.
Between the great coloring on the pitcher,
with those red speckles,
and the wonderful sweep to the pitcher...
this N. veitchii x boschiana pitcher already has a feather in it's cap, much before the peristome even rolls around to showing itself off...
