I went to Davenport Ia (30 mins drive round about) and went into a gas station to fill up. I was almost empty and this huge black pickup comes in behind me. I put in 20 dollars (3.19 a gallon) and was debating on whether or not to put in more cause it wasnt enough. So he guy behind me gets...
I just got this lil guy from Nepenthes lastnight and set it up with a cut off water bottle on top and placed it in the same windowsill im growing my sundews on (see first pic). The Window gets tons of direct sunlight and it's south facing so the heat can build up.
I got home today and saw that...
I think I want to start growing bamboo, I would like to find a clumping species and the taller the better. It needs to be able to survive zone 8 conditions.
Before I look anywhere else I thought I'd give a try here first. PM me and we can make a deal.
I was wondering where I should get bamboo (not the fake lucky bamboo) to grow, I really only want one for just the love of the plant. I am not going to plant it in the ground so runners are fine. Sorry if I can't ask for places to buy non-carnivorous plants.

I just bought my Beta a larger bowl, actually it's a vase, it's tall and wide and I was wondering if I could put bamboo in his tank? I've seen some people with Bamboo plants in a vase and then some tetra's or Beta's in there with it. Here's a pic of Studboy, yes his name is Studboy, don't laugh! :-P
Hello everyone.
I am looking into getting my first "indoor" plant. I need something that:
-will do well inside my room next to my east facing window
-is attractive
-is easy to care for (no grow lights or terrariums)
-is not too large
-is not expensive
-will last a long time
I have been...
When a new member of another plant forum, where I am also a member, posted for the first time, he included a list of plants that he had begun his hobby with. Of about fourteen varieties he listed, all but 4 were misspelled or incorrectly written, or both. I pointed out these errors and mentioned...

I'm wondering if any of you have a bunch of lilies and what you do to keep 'em...
Granted.. they are the early pitchers, so they have no other pitchers to stand tall with..and i know it happens in nature.... but the wind is driving me nuts. I am in a new-ish neighborhood.. so there isn't anything to cut down on the wind. I made the wire hoops.. which help a little bit.. but...

it is a joy searching for nepenthes in the wild.Knowing they all look almost the same,at least in term of same species, but observing their colour variation, shapes and their leaves growth pattern is a sight to behold.

Don't mind me, i was bored and felt like being productive instead of working for a little. So...on with the post. Hope someone finds any of this info helpful.
We all know that these things grow, duh, but apparently most of us have never had any luck through propagating them without a 2-3' long...
