have you ever had one of those days, or weeks, or even months?
Let me tell you my story. LAST WINTER I was invaded with aphids, I tried everything I could find short of pesticides, and eventually ended up destroying the plants for lack of a better option (they were pepper plants, so no...
i've heard a bunch on here about insects called "aphids". what, exactly, do they look like?
...i was out today, looking at my rose bushes, and noticed a bunch of little green bugs on the new shoots. they are only a few mm. long, at most. are these aphids? whatever they are, they haven't found...
My plant was growing great and now has some sort of white stuff on it. I don't think it's aphids... it just sort of looks like a white mass on almost all of the leaves. The plant is suffering. I'm thinking about removing all the affected leaves. Any advice?
Some of the traps on my biggest vft are growing really curly and twisted. And on one trap one side of it grew smaller than the other so it has one really big side and one small side, it's weird. My flytrap has ate 8 bugs this month! Could this be caused from overeating or what. Its not aphids...
I have had a VFT bogg on the deck doing fine over the past few years. I have noticed that the plants are now stressed. Seems that some are browning early, others in a partially closed state. I also notice a reddish color around the triggers on the traps. I do treat for aphids every 3 weeks or so...
Since i bought a VFT ~1 month ago, all 3 new traps have grown really deformed & curly. The trap itself & the leafy bit along each side of the stem have bumps all over them. There is a number of aphids on the plant - can I spray it with an insecticide spray to kill them off? I'm concerned it will...
I have acquired some large outdoor pots that are normally used to plant trees
in. The two I plan on using for my bogs are 32 inches diameter, and about 34 inches
deep. They are about 2 inches thick (these things are very heavy!) and I think
are glazed teracota. One has some chipping inside. I...
Hiya,
My d. capensis was bought with a colony of aphids, which I picked off with tweezers. Since I take it outdoors on weekends for extra sun, I've acquired more of the buggers.
Is there an organic way to get rid of them? I've heard about drowing them and the plant for three days in a bucket of...
Hey, i found a mass infection of fungus gnats i think on my red dragon and my other cps. but my red dragon has em everywhere!!!!!!
i am not sure if they are aphids or fungus gnats, the insects look like little tiny bugs that jump around and there babies are white little things that soon turn...
Hey guys, first post!
I'm kinda new at all of this, and reading through the forums has been extremely helpful so far.
First, I saw a few aphids on my terrarium flytrap today, and I used "Schultz Garden Safe Fungicide 3" on it (it's also apparently an insecticide/miticide). The active...
I have recently been made aware of an aphid infestation on my S. leucophylla, and I am looking to obtain some Orthene to control it. I found that Home Depot sells something called "RosePride Orthenex Insect & Disease Control", which contains:
4.0% Orthene
0.75% Fenabutin-Oxide (Vendex)...
Hello I just bought this beautiful new s. minor x alata it's 20 inches high without the pot its a huge monster plant! But when I got outta the store I noticed it had critters (aphids) so I took it back and asked him what I should buy. We went out back after he got mad the suckers somehow...
well, after a tedious fight with the aphids, i managed to kill most of em. used a spray bottle and sprayed alot off with water. Anyways, the plant flowered and now is kinda in shock..flower weakened it. I also repotted it. Can it take this stress?
