Wow !! I wonder what causes this, is it simply a genetic accident or something to do with external factors ?

I think there was either a drop in humidity at a crucial moment or a temperature anomaly, or maybe just a goof up. It never happened again.

Regarding that "N. macrophylla" from AW. The pitchers didn't show deformities until they were 6 inches plus and the plant was nearly 2 feet across.
Then, the ugly pitchers started appearing. Some have been even more distorted than the one in the photo.

I have a severely deformed S. flava ornata to post. It never makes a normal pitcher, ever.

Heres a 'Evendine' x flava. Every pitcher looks like this and some have really droopy hoods. I wouldnt say its really ugly but definitely abnormal.
