Oreo x flava - Photo Montage

By far my largest sarracenia. According to Peter D'Amato (Savage Garden), this particular cross has reached a pitcher height of 42" in cultivation. The large pitchers have mostly the flava habits of putting up the largest pitchers early in the season and retaining them throughout the summer. The oreo is expressed in the veining of the pitchers and a slight round top. At 32", this is a baby compared to other specimens:

Hi Cody,

I got mine from Peter D'Amato's nursery. I think that he probably has some to offer considering how vigorous this thing is (went from a six inch plant to my tallest sarracenia in the span of a year!). Otherwise, I may have a division or two of it to offer later this year.

There's no secrets. The plants do their own growing provided you give them the light and water they need. For all I know yours will be bigger than mine, in which case _I'LL_ be drooling over your plants. According to Peter, this hybrid has been known to reach 42 inches (the tallest sarra pitcher that I know of being the 50" 'Leah Wilkerson' - so in so far as size goes, mine hasn't reached full potential at only 34". One thing that I WILL tell you is that this hybrid is fast growing and extremely vigorous. The plant that I purchased from Peter went from this (the one by the middle tag):

I'm sure it'll do just as well for you. Just give it plenty of sun and good quality water.

Silly question - do you have any drainage holes on the sides of those tubs or do you just dump a gallon or two of water in them every once in a while?

Do they need help standing up? I noticed a lot of yours are tied to a support.

Old post, but still very nice. What are you using to support them in the last pic? My sarrs usually look like crap cuz we get constant winds here, and I need to figure out a decent way to support them. Whatever your using looks like it would work great.
