Oregon Trip July 2011

Got to visit some CP natural habitats in Oregon.

First site in southern Oregon
Late snow melt water was high. Don't know if the plants had woken up to their fullest. Some Flowering in the D. anglica. Utricularia intermedia seen and it was flowering. There is a published trip report for this location if you look hard enough. A second utricularia species was reported to be there but i didn't see it. Did see remnants of snow drifts under the forested areas so looks like snow really started melting about a week or so before we got there. My wife and sister got eaten by mosquitos.

next area we visited was near central Oregon

again high water and late summer may have reduced what i could see. no real evidence of plants except for small sprig of the other utricularia found in Oregon U. macrorhiza

indoor VFTS under 2 twisty compact florescent lights. good reflector. Heat did not seem to be an issue

Stunning shots, Mach!
Looks like some marvelous, beautiful scenery and a great time!!

/flails with joy
:laaa: YESSSSSSS!! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. I have lumber all cut up and that exact netting, too! I just need dad's help in putting it all together!
Gorgeous Sarrs and plants your friends have, btw.

HOLY CRAP THAT IS SUCH A NICE PRIVATE COLLECTION!

and of course, amazing pics, i love the scenery shots...wish i did more of those...

Hoollyyy cow that is indeed the most organized, well put together set up i've seen yet. How is heat not an issue with his lights so close to the plants?! *head explodes*

Awesome field shots too, jealous :)

Second Friend CP collection in Ashland Oregon

Got to see his TC set up. Working on getting a set up for us to teach this at the college. Seems like it would be a nice addition to standard plant propagation. If you look closely you can see what every one is :)

acclimatizing after being deflasked. Potted up bagged and held for a few days weeks until they start growing then open baggies slowly and get accustomed to lower humidity

Wow awesome documentation / photography.

Cool pics of the TC setup you visited along with their wacky traps, korean melody shark, and general Dionea nursery...
