Myrmecodia sp. Fruit/Seed Givaway

I've got 4 ripe Myrmecodia sp. fruit to giveaway. There's usually between 2 and 4 seeds in each fruit. These have an extremely short shelf life and germinate FAST ! It's not uncommon to get germination under 24 hours after sowing. Shipping is on me for these. Must be a US resident. You also must post a photo of the ugliest plant you've ever grown. Bad clones, ugly hybrids, warped by cramped or inadequate conditions, neglected, forgotten about, left for dead or just naturally UGLY. The plant must have been grown by you at some point in time and does not have to be of the carnivorous persuasion. I'll choose 2 winners for 2 fruit each a week from today (7/1/15).

What an awesome contest! This is a really tough one cause I feel like no plant is truly ugly in the right angle! Regardless, I do have an entry

N. Miranda upper that popped with a deformed peristome. I am not sure how that happened for that plant was pretty established.

Just for fun, heres our crispy N. Tanalangas (excuse spelling) that we accidenatally left on a too sunny part of a table while we were misting our plants. Oh my gosh the poor thing!

Here's the "after" plant of an Alluaudia procera which was a good deal at Home Depot. I really like these when grown in the ground, and I was thinking of persuading someone to do that. The December deluge here (half a year's worth of rain in a couple days) and probably too much shade rotted the plant.

I am so TOTALLY in. I hafta grow one of these.

Currently growing (sorta): One sad, sad mini rose with the WORST case of spider mites I have ever seen and attempted to treat. So far, so maybe. One crappy photo coming up, sun went down, so.....

Trust me that's rot. There wasn't sufficient sun for sunburn, especially in December. I had another rot a couple years before.

Maybe im not seeing the picture as close as id need to be. Mine was burned horrible and it had finally put out leaves too! My neighbor ripped downto my sun blockers on the Windows in the winter claiming they werein ugly and many plants were burned but that one was literally cooked! Its only got 2 living beaches in the pot now the rest are hard baked thorney sticks that grab at my legs when i walk by..ouch!

Yr plant does kinda look closer to the euphorbia thats almost a twin to alludia, cause it looks like the sticks are thicker then my thin ones but you never kno with bbs labeling lol

I'm 100% sure the plant is/was Alluaudia procera. I used to live down the street from the Huntington, where they have huge plants in the ground. I also grew the plant for several years in a pot down there.

The plant died in December, when we got 10 inches of rain in a couple days. Temperatures were in the 40s and 50s. There was insufficient sun for the plant to grow well, let alone sunburn it. More succulents and such plants are lost in this climate to rot in our (normally) cool, wet winters than to any other cause, particularly as I'm frost free. There is no mystery as to how it died.

Just goes to show you, even some of the best growers on here can have a major foul once in a while !
