Greetings all,

As has been posted to the CP-Listserv, recently (May 30th, 2013) about 1000 Dionaea were stolen from Wilmington, NC's Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden. Here is a link to the article:

A list member just posted a follow up regarding contact information for the caretakers of the garden in case anyone wants to send in some replacements/donations. This is cut from that email and comes from a couple of posts on Flytrapcare forums:

"They are looking for VFT's, Sarracenia minor, Sarracenia rubra, Sarracenia lecuophylla, Sarracenia purpurea, and Darlingtonia californica.
Seed donations will be used to reseed trampled and poached areas, and live plants will be transplanted after the summer heat.

If you are sending plants and/or seeds, they would like you to send some information about you, as they will set up an area with donated plants, and information about the donors will be put in QR codes set by the donated plants.

Here's where to send plants:

Cape Fear Community College
Geology Program
C/O Daniel Sheret
411 N. Front Street
Wilmington, NC 28401
910-431-1162
dsheret759@mail.cfcc.edu"

I am not affiliated with this garden and have no further information, though I do intend to send them several plants.

very cool, thanks for the info!
