Yesterday I went on a seven hour hike through some interesting Southeast Alaskan rainforest.
The following pictures will show you a bit about the area that I live and the forests and sphagnum bogs that I've grown up in and have come to love.
The trail head is a an old stretch of boardwalk...
Hey guys,
I'm doing some experimenting with cheese-making, and I read that p. vulgaris could be used as a substitute for rennet. Anyone have a p. vulgaris that they would be willing to trade?
I have other pings, dews, and utrics that I would be willing to trade for it.
Thanks,
-Hermes.
Hey guys!
I recently bought P. vulgaris seeds from one Kamil Pasek of BestCarnivorousPlants.com. Can anyone vouch as to the viability of the seeds his nursery provides? Also, does he store seeds in cold strat, so that when they do arrive, I can just sow them straight away? I've emailed him to...

Does Anyone Grow D. Vulgaris???
This is my time growing one & I'm trying to figure out if I'm on the right track or not
It started to spike about 3 months ago & it's growing, but very slowly
Figured it would have opened/started producing a leaf by now

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've been growing some cp's for a little while now, after doing a lot of homework. I've been looking all over the net for P. vulgaris in the lower mainland, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Despite being called the common butterwort, it's not so common in...

There is a lot of bog here in southeast Alaska. So I more or less just put a terrarium outside, threw some live spaghnum moss in there and planted a few native carnivores, it's not very impressive but it is also extremely easy to take care of, I virtually don't.

My main interest is to have in my collection, every last known pinguicula so if you have one not on my grow list let me know. Beyond my Ping obsession i have very good luck with petiolaris and tuberous drosera and would like to enlarge my collection of them too. I always have lots of nepenthes...
Hi,
I'm from SE Michigan. I just created a bog garden last June, and it has been a real success so far! Last year, I added Sarracenia purpurea, Dionaea muscipula and Drosera rotundifolia. They all did very well.
I am now looking to add other plants, like Sarracenia leucophylla, S. flava, S...
Even though I still have a decent covering of snow on the ground here in Michigan at zone 5 I am plotting and planning for a carnivorous bog garden I would like to install this spring. I would like to outline my plan and intended plants and see if anyone else (especially if you are a zone 5...
