I took some pictures with my new [it's pretty old but I just got it so shut up lol] digital camera! Yay! No close ups really, but, whatever.
Don't really like this one [lol]:
And another [an overview, the older pitchers are at the front, you can see the flower stalk, I like the pic because...
I just got the book Triggerplants by Douglas Darnowski discussing the genus Stylidium, whose flowers hammer visiting polinators with pollen and has stalked glandular hairs to trap very small gnat like bugs. I bought the book from the man himself and he sent me his for sale list but I was...
Here's a pic of the Stylidium debile that has flowered for me.
I did not know the flowers where so small.
Has anyone every pollinated flowers of this plant and how did you do it?
Hi All,
I'm putting up this list- I'm trying to gauge how to go about doing this: I'm hoping to offer the following to those in the general area where I live, near Philadelphia, PA, or anyone who wants to come here from where ever, as I'm pretty sure some would drive a bit for some of these...
I only have a few CPs left that didn't die in the car crash, aren't at Eds, or didn't die in the cold, here they are. One of them is my precious Cephalotus which I ALMOST brought to Ed's but luckily didn't (probably would've died in the crash if I brought it along)
Stylidium
Stylidium can...

Douglas Darnowski was to present an abstract at the 2007 Botany and Plant Biology Joint Congress in Chicago, this event occurred in July, yet, Wikipedia still lists it as sub-carnivorous, and I can't find any information on the declaration anywhere? Please help! I need this information...
Hey there!
I have some Stylidium debile offshoots which will be ready to ship in a week or so (if I have shipping $$$ then) I can send 1 or 2 to you if you wish. Check out my wantlist for trades. A.k.a the Triggerplant. My debiles have somewhat hairy trichomes with a little stickyness on them...
My Stylidium is going mad. I gave it a little fertilizer and now it's flowering like a maniac and has about 20 offshoots that are surrounding my also flowering D. ordensis out in full sun in Wisconsin like the English Armada. I plucked one and put it in a pot next to my S. flava 'copper top', it...
Today, my mom decided to re-pot her precious plants that aren't doing good (she has a black thumb so she forces me to take care of them and I don't like 'normal' plants so I ignore them often), and I noticed she put my N. rafflesiana, N. ventricosa and another Nep outside in an 8 inch pot. I...

So about 1.5 months ago I saw my Stylidium in the windowsill with a D. ordensis was only making a few leaves at a slow pace, so, I gave it a little orchid fertilizer and it has since made about 15-20 offshoots and I moved it outside in full direct sun for most of the day and it now...
We got two kittens from endo-doc, one is particularly annoying. We let them outside from time to time and might make them outside cats, they stay near the house and our adult cat guides them. Well, the orange tabby is the adventurous one and certainly my CP's don't like adventure. My kitten runs...
Twoton made an excellent post which can be found Here.
Apparently Stylidium has been found to produce protease and other digestive enzymes, and if it is proven they can absorb the nutrients then they would be considered carnivorous.
I'm not really sure where this thread goes so I put it here.
Hey,
Quick question: whats a good soil mix for Stylidium, specifically S. bulbiferum. Will normal well drained CP mix work?
Oh, and how wet should plants be kept?
