So about a year ago I started a variety of drosera seed on shredded sphagnum. Maybe half germinated any, and only d. tokaiensis survived to appreciable sizes. They were actually doing fantastic for a few months, but are now losing dew and seem to be dying back. I'm just extremely frustrated...
1) Opening bid amount $2
2) Item description - We will be tearing down this terrarium and dividing up all the plants, half will stay here and half will go out as a part of this auction. Most plants are un-ided species. I know there are the following in there: Anubias nana var. 'Petite'...
Berries are ripening on my plant all the time. I'll mail out all the seeds that are ready to go when the auction closes (probably 15+). They germinate fast, and may start while in transit. I'll cover shipping in a regular old envelope with live sphagnum for padding. Bidding starts at $1.

I found a couple little patches of moss somewhat nearby my group of sarracenia and they seem to be nearly identical (at least to my untrained eyes) to sphagnum moss growing in some of my pots. They are very small sprouts though. I live in Washington and I'm pretty sure sphagnum grows in my state...
Up for auction is a plug of U. calycidifa 'Asenath Waite'. I grow this plant is waterlogged live sphagnum and it blooms heavily in warm weather.
Shipping will be USPS Priority and will cost the buyer $6. If someone wins more than one of my auctions I will combine shipping and pay for it myself...
This is the final version ( for now) I have decided to go with. The three pumps are now all on this MkIII version. All I need to do now is introduce my seedling Darlingtonia to the Sphagnum baskets. I'll be slipping in a few pots of Cephalotus too.
Well I am a little embarrassed that it has taken me this long to replant the CP's of this planter... but what a mess it was under the moss...
Here is what it looked like a couple of days after I got it..
So this is what it looked like after I removed the plants... It started growing...
This is the second version of a solar water pump in a tray for Darlingtonia. The first version which I placed in an existing planted tray doesn't really allow for a large enough flow through. So this time I have cut off the bottoms of some slated trays (see photo) at 1" and inverted them to...
I gave into temptation and bought a small 9v water pump and solar panel from Amazon for the extravagant amount of £5.89 ($9.11). I made a holding frame from scrap wood and a couple of metal angle brackets for the panel so it's angled at 45°. This I've clamped to the ridge of the greenhouse. The...
I have a bunch of these pseudo bulbs currently. Bulbophyllum cumingii has a chain of flowers that curve together to look like a partial pink daisy. Really neat flower. You can grow it in a fine bark mix or sphagnum moss or mount on a tree. It likes moisture and warm temperature. 3-4 of these...
I know everyone has their own way of potting plants...
I searched the forum on how to repot, transplant, replant CP's I came up with 1 and the caresheet link didn't work..

OK... so I have my Amazon shopping cart ready... Is this the best place to get my supplies? or is there a better option? (I am not made of money, and was not expecting to be transplanting something I thought was complete) Or is there a place where I can buy a pre-mixed medium specifically for...
First post here; figured I'd show off my procrastinating skills. In early September I received ~20 Sarracenia purpurea seeds with the mindset that I'd stratify half of them for 4 weeks, then stratify the remaining seeds after that. Well, since than half the seeds have been in my fridge with some...
I have a small N. Burbidgeae which I received in the beginning of December and just recently the 2 most bottom set of leaves are turning black from the tip.
I know it's normal for bottom leaves to die off, but usually they die off as brown, don't they?
During the day the temperature is ~90F...
I am stumped. HOW DO YOU GROW LIVE SPHAGNUM AS A TOP LAYER WITHOUT IT BURNING?? I seriously dig those pots of nepenthes with the billowing sphagnum moss literally pouring over the sides... what does it take?? frequent overhead misting? pot sitting in water? ugh. pics of your plant-moss combos...
Long time no speak terra fourms. whats up? Getting my bog on and am looking for live Sphagnum. Am willing to toss a little $$$ for some. Please inbox me with offers. Want some soon. Thanks :)
Hi all,
Will try and keep it short.
Where I stay finding quality sphagnum peat at a reasonable price always seems to be an issue. And not to mention how destructive to environment the farming of sphagnum peat is.
I did the Google thing and got together as much research as possible about peat...
Went with the UF Wetlands Club to a local bog in honor of World Wetlands Day, which is tomorrow. The water level was pretty high, but still plenty of S. minor, Sphagnum and Utrics, and we even spotted a few D. intermedia that were floating around.
