I've been searching the forum and the interwebz to no avail...
I bought a nice Sarracenia "Dana's Delight" last summer. It grew in full sun on a fire escape along with some VFTs and a S. purpurea. Everything went dormant in due course and spent the winter on a windowsill in an unheated...
I repotted a sanguinae, maxima, and ventricosa today. All the soil fell off the roots, and the ventricosa was separated from the two others next to it. I untangled the roots carefully, but I'm not sure how badly they where damaged. Are they going to be okay, or should I be worried.

Howdy. It's been awhile since I posted. Here is my current growing area:
Have Cephalotus, Drosera aliciae, Drosera spatulata, Pinguicula caerulea, and some form of terrestrial Utricularia all growing in a 6'' pot filled with pure sphagnum moss. A few weeks ago I made some leaf cuttings of...
Drosera adelae is creating several clones of itself, and a tray full of sphagnum moss had 3 rotundifolia sprout in the past few days, with quite a few more expected to sprout. Dunno where all the seeds are, they just sorta popped up randomly. Anyone want spares once they get larger?
These plants are seed grown from parent stock collected at White's Bog NJ. I'm offering a clump of approx. 5 - 7 seedlings of the year. I pay shipping to the US only. I'll get a pic up later. Giveaway is for Green members only. In the interest of full disclosure, the parent stock was collected...
I am new to this, my goal is to get these plants nice and healthy and ready for some extended time lapse sequences in my studio
For now, i have them in my workshop, this is the current setup. They seem to be doing ... ok... but im seeing some strange things. The pitcher plants are sort of...
Hello all,
I intend to do as much propagation as I can in order to reinvigorate and expand my collection instead of buying new material. This provides me with incentive to experiment with propagation techniques and growing methods.
Today I walked to my local hydroponics store and purchased 14...
This is where I'll post about my indoor collection. I decided to be so public with it because I am very serious about making it better (all within means of course!). I recently lost a great many of my older plants, though a few decade + ones survived my year off at university. As I plan on...
I really gotta stop coming up with weird titles lol.
Anyway I just performed a mass leaf pulling on all of my pings this Friday (06/27/14) and thought I would start a development thread incase anyone was interested.
I am too lazy to retype all the pings so I am just copying the description...
I would like to repot my capensis soon, I am leaving for awhile Saturday and leaving the feeding and watering up to the family so I would like fresh and clean soil to reduce complications. I am having a very difficult time looking for small bags of sphagnum peat. I found beach sand at Lowes...
With the hot TX summer coming and all my other projects in testing or completed its time to start this one.
The alpha version will likely contain U. quelchii.
My main goals are as follows.
Lowest maintenance time possible.
Allow enough room for the species to flower within the setup.
Ease of...
Last year, I decided to buy a Rubbermaid style plastic tote, sink it in the ground, and put Sarracenias and VFT's in it. It worked great, but looked a little too redneck... for my tastes anyways. Come fall, I trimmed off the taller pitchers, and put the lid on the tote, and buried it under a...
Took a 10 mile stroll from downtown today to visit this park, which I only recently realized existed (a great personal failing after seven years here). Chief among the attractions is the Quaking Bog, a small naturally occurring sphagnum bog (park literature says it has an estimated age of around...
I have limited space for carnivorous plants, but for those who are interested, this is my list. I kind of like my plants bloody, red, and dangerous looking. I also have regular house plants, but I'm definitely not listing those as there are too many.
Pink is quantity for trade/sell. Green is...
