So one of my pitchers has started to develop a bit of a bluish rash looking thing, its one that was sunburned a bit already when we bought it. I've been unable to find any one else that's asked about blue spots on a search. Here's a photo...
I thought I'd start a thread for pictures and discussion of UV fluorescence in CPs. I get the impression that it's not a very well-known phenomenon, and I'd like to change that!
I'll start with a fantastic picture of N. "Triffid" I took last night:
And one of my random hybrid from April...
Hi everyone!
My sarracenia purp. Is flowering en mass, 6 flowers. I have had this particular plant for over 5 years and it was an adult when I got it so, it's an older plant. It has been doing very well over the years and has grown so big I had to put it into a 24 inch pot last year. I was...
Hey everyone,
I have (3) Sarracenia. One is a NoID and two are recent purchases this year of " S. Leuchophylla 'Hurricane Creek' ". The Hurricane Creek already seems like it's going to be much bigger than my death cube NoID Sarr. The NoID did really well last year and put on a lot of growth...
This Darlingtonia stolon had decided that the corner of the tray was as good place to take up residence. Unfortunately that selected corner is against the door frame of the Darlingtonia House so new larger pitchers were in serious danger of damage.
Contrary to my usual procedure, which would be...
This was my first Nepenthes that I bought to see how well I could grow one. As I discovered, like most CPs, the difficulty of growing them is exaggerated and I have acquired several others since but have never positively identified this one. So have at it, Nepenthes experts!
Pitchers are...
While Sarracenia pitcher leaves are still flat and just before they begin to expand or open they are vulnerable to wind damage. This is one of those years when I am getting quite a few broken pitchers.
S. 'Hummer's Okee Classic' - having recovered from being divided last year pitchers are...
Here are a few pictures of the result of a Nepenthes cutting I rooted last year. Unfortunately in the process of receiving it and splitting the cutting with another local grower, the tag was lost. The cutting was obtained from Whimgrinder. I'm very sure that it is a plant with a latin name -...
Hi. I'm looking to trade some nepenthes plants for some lowland or intermediate/lowland nepenthes plants.
What I have to offer:
N. Ampullaria x Ventricosa "Lady Luck" 17 inch leaf span
N. Spathulata x Campanulata 7 inch leaf span with 2 pitchers
N. Spathulata x Diatas 8 inch leaf span with...
This post is in regard to the members who I talked with
about taking nepenthes pods and sarracenia pitchers and drying them
so the colors and beauty of said traps would be preserved.
I found this on ebay with recipe included.

Hi all,
Got my first nep Jan 2015, and hung it in a tree in south Florida. It was three six inch tall plants, ventrata, and it's now six or ten plants, the leader vining out to about eight feet long. The tree has pitchers hanging all over. I love it.
But it's in one of those tiny hanging...
Hey everybody that actually reads this! I've collected orchids for a while and within the last year and a half have been collecting CPs. I saw some sarracenia minor in situ and fell in love with them. Before long I had a decent collection but gravitated to nepenthes mostly only in the last 6...
Hello guys,
What is going on with this ventrata?... i give it 5 hours of direct sunlight and it is standing next to a sanguinea and a rebecca soper that look good. Some time ago I had problems with its pitchers not totally forming and leaves all green, now it's the complete oposite: dark big...
I have a Small Nepenthes that I got about a month ago. And it's in a 1 or 2 inch round pot. It is just a little plant now, however, if I wanted it to grow, should I re-pot it now? or wait for it to make some pitchers before I start to think about it. I know it's only been a short while, but I...
We had a huge hail and thunderstorm roll through last night with some pretty good-sized hail. Thankfully I got the vulnerable pots (freshly potted stuff) under cover before it hit, but the bog I can't exactly move out of the way, haha. Fortunately not that many sarrs have open pitchers yet, but...
Hiya!
I've got a quite small N. Rajah x Mira growing in my chamber, struggling for now and I was wondering if anyone have pictures of a big(ger) one with pitchers? I can't seem to get anything satisfying from google.
Also, does anyone have any other Rajah hybrids? I think i can recall a N...
So, my Nepenthes is in a pretty small pot, however, I understand that they can be that way. But what I'm thinking is, if I put them in a bigger pot, won't they grow larger? Or should I keep them in there small pot until they start producing pitchers..?
I suppose it's about time so I'll start with some recent pictures. Quite a few actually.

Some native Oregon sphagnum I'm growing with the outdoor plants, covered with netting to discourage those pesky birds.

Hello everyone. I have been in the chat and lurking around a bit so thought I'd finally put together an intro thread. I'm just starting to get into carnivores aside from some success with Nepenthes before and a failure with Darlingtonia outdoors over winter some years back. I have a 4ft T5...
Finally. I never take the time to get nice photos of my plants that I feel are presentable enough to make the effort of putting them on the forums. However, I took a few nice photos today (for Instagram with my not-so-good phone camera) while I was renovating my highland terrarium so I feel like...
