    Tips for big nectar spoons?

So, I received an H. minor "Red" from Ron after the NASC auction. It's producing pitchers close to the size of the ones it came with, but the nectar spoons are TEENY. Like, the size of a teeny ant, as opposed to the size of a small lentil. Currently it is growing under ~5000 lumens of T5 HO...

    Heliamphora sarracenioides "2sg"

Hello all, I am growing AW's clone 2sg of H. sarracenioides, and the pitchers are showing a pretty distinct nectar spoon. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm supposing this is not the "pure" species. Take a look:

    General problems:

Hey all, I have a number of questions that I would like to be answered, and I have been saving them all up untill now. Just for you ;). I thought I wouldn't waste forum space with about 10 questions in a period of, like, a week. :P Anyway, 5 problems/identifications! 1) My Nepenthes x Ventrata...

    My Nepenthes

Nepenthes Miranda. Has quite a few growth points. I got it last fall, finally got one in good condition. Has been growing in my window this winter so that's why it's growing sideways. When I bought this from a local nursery it was labled as nepenthes rafflesiana. It started pitchering this...

    Dripping N. fusca

I only grow a few Nepenthes, as I don't have ideal conditions for them, but one that does OK for me in N. fusca (flared peristome). The pitchers on this plant 'drip' with nectar...

    I'm Raising the Elevation.

I have two Lowland Nepenthes up for trade. It hurts my heart very much to offer my beloved Nepenthes bicalcarata up for trade and/or adoption. I would not trade it for the world if I honestly felt that I didn't have to. Unfortunately this plant grows to be the largest carnivorous plant in...

    My lighting

Its the ultimate question for terrarium users, I know, but I would like to get the opinion of the experts here, applied specifically to my set up. Now lets see if I can recall the specs on my bulbs here... I have two 2' fixtures, one T12, the other T8. On the T12, there are two bulbs which...

    Wasp Shots

I noticed this wasp earlier this evening on some Sarracenia seedlings. It was moving very slowly, due to the temperature, I assume, although it wasn't that cold. Maybe 55 degrees outside. Anyway, he let me get some nice close-ups, and I was even able to pet it. Maybe it was drunk on nectar.

Terrarium in August (a bit picture intensive)

hello again! What follows is what looks good from my indoor collection. I have had more luck with things in here, as far as sudden and mass die-offs go. I am still tweeking the light, though, (the color of the cephalotus and the size of the heliamphora's nectar spoon are dead giveaways)and...

    Heliamphora pitcher nectaries

A subject that is often covered in literature but seems rarely photographed with nectar present. It is assumed these are used to bait crawling insects upward to the main nectaries of the spoon. Cheers' Av
