Hey everybody!
I'm looking to start a succulent bed at my house and I'm in need of plants to fill it with. They need to be zone 8 hardy. I'm looking for Agave americana in particular, but all agave will be considered. Yuccas, Odd-ball hen and chicks, Delosperma, Moranense, Orostachy, Pallidum...
So after putting my entire Sarracenia collection on the back burner for years, I finally got around to taking a weekend to remove the shards of broken plastic that were once pots and clean and divide them. I'd like to trade these off for Nepenthes, Genlisea, or Sarracenia species varietals not...
I have 2 Sarracenias that I'm not sure about. As far as I can tell, No. 1 is something to do with S. Leucophylla, No. 2 is something hybradised with S. purpurea, and No. 3 is possibly purp, but probably some stronger hybrid.
No. 1
No. 2
No. 3

I posted this in another forum, but I thought I'd post it here too.
My understanding is that both of the Tarnoks (of S. leucophylla 'Tarnok' fame) have passed. I was just wondering if anyone knew what has become of their bog.
This is what I found in a New Orleans florist's newsletter...
Hey, I recently scored a nice white-top at a plant sale. I was a little wary of buying a plant like this late-season, right before dormancy, but I went ahead and got it since I knew it came from a good source and I don't know that I'll find any of these locally outside this one bi-annual plant...
Somewhere between middle school and high school, I stopped growing plants. I had a filled 4-shelf growing rack and a 40gal terrarium, but somehow my collection just trickled away one by one as I lost interest to keep it going.
Well, now I'm a sophomore in college, and I thought I would start...

Hello all!! I was looking in the fridge for "something to do" and found that I still have lots of Sarr seeds already packed up... I did a giveaway back in 2009 but these were nicely dried and have been in the fridge since then. Some people have even posted pictures of their Sarrs from these...

Hi all, this is my first post ever on a forum :)
So i'm a student from Belgium and I keep some plants in our house for several years.
In spring 2013 i bought my first cp (i was always interested in them but i thought they were impossible to keep)
It was a nepenthes (ventrata i think) from a...
Hi all i am back. And after a particually harsh summer my plants look like crap. The flavas are messes, venus flytraps have been super dry, and luecos hate my climate. They spend almost the whole year making phyllodia. My climate has humidity 0%, average summer temps is 99-100 degrees...
So for those of you that I have not told already... This past Friday I was invited by a professor at UNC-Charlotte to come work on some research projects with him as a graduate school student. The goals of the project are 1) understanding natural genetic variation (including hybridization and...
I guess I should have expected it sooner or later, but I think I have a problem. I have these white patches on my S. leucophylla. I'm thinking they might be mealys, but I'm honestly not sure. I don't see any around the rhizome, and these spots aren't like anything I've seen online. These spots...
