I crossed pollinated the following forms: N. paradoxa (stem forming, white flowers) and D. paradoxa (either Drysdale or Kimberly, pink flowers).
The fruits are maturing at the moment but I have already collected ~50 to 70 seeds. Interestingly, only the white flowers became fruits which...
Well, I'm looking to buy my first terrestrial Utricularia and Genlisea soon. I have some quick questions:
1) What would be the best method to view the traps? I'm thinking about growing them in a clear plastic cup so the traps would be visible.
2) undrained container is best, correct?
3) how...

When I was still a CP beginner, I thought it might be cool to have a giant pot with tons of Drosera in it. However, I was still a beginner, and when I transferred all the plants to the pot, I used pure peat. No sand, perlite, or anything else, just peat. The sundews I've planted there have never...

This is really an adaptation of the famous picture of Geoff Wong and the Genlisea, but how about a large styrofoam cooler lid with holes cut out to accommodate pots of terrestrial Utricularia & Genlisea, floating on a tank or plastic trash barrel, filled with water?
I am guessing that Genlisea come in many different sizes. I recently received Genlisea lobata x violacea. The single rosette is approximately 1/2" across. My question is, what is the average size of these plants under good cultivation and do they have an "age" when they become blooming size?
I am putting together a plant display for our local Aquarium, and am attempting to compile a bit of very "basic" educational info to accompany the plant material. While reviewing the threads in this section I came upon this thread: http://www.terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90482
