So, as the title suggests, I've been noticing a few pitchers on what should be pretty forgiving plants ( densiflora x ventricosa in particular) have been opening too early. My plants grow in 80-90% humidity 75degree days, 50 degree nights, on a 16 hour photoperiod. Part of me thinks maybe the...
Hi all,
My name is Robert and I've only fairly recently returned to the CP hobby ( or should I say ADDICTION?). As an adolescent I became pretty obsessed with CPs and had quite a decent collection considering that when I started, there was only one online nursery and they only sold one species...

Hey everybody, I recently got back into CPs after about 5 years away and the bug has bitten. What started off as having a D. capensis "broad leaf" in a windowsill has quickly grown to a 4 tube, 20 gallon highland terrarium complete with ice bottles and computer fans. Right now all I have in the...
My four plant shipment from the Czech Republic is at the Post Office so tomorrow I make the pick-up. It's still a little early so if they are cold bit it's on me and PLEASE, I don't want to get into another discussion about ordering plants in the cold of winter!
I will post pictures tomorrow...

My N. densiflora x spectabilis had all these little white things all over it, so I pulled a bunch of the leaves off and wiped the whole thing down with alcohol because the white things were in between the node and the leaf too. After a bit, the leaves turned yellow, the brown and died. The...
Come and get 'em! It is difficult to do this, but I will be moving soon, and I don't want the headache of trying to take my plants with me. I have been growing nepenthes for almost 30 years and have many healthy and vigorous plants left in my collection, so here is an opportunity to get some...
Which Nepenthes should I choose to move first out to my greenhouse? My newest addition has spent its entire life with me (1 week) in the greenhouse. I just moved out my N. x 'Ventrata'. I want to be strategic about this so that if one does poorly with the move, I won't move another that does...

^ That's what has been on my N. densiflora x spectabilis. I never see them move around so I didn't suspect that's what it was. They are really, really tiny, so tiny you can't even tell what they are. They were pretty much all over the leaves of the plant. Luckily, they didn't spread to the rest...

Alright... So I put my humidity gauge out in my greenhouse last night and I've monitored it throughout the day. Just curious if neps can withstand these very mild swings in humidity.

I purchased this N. densiflora x spectabilis just over a month ago and it doesn't seem to like me as much as all of my other neps. It has taken the entire time not to grow a leaf, but to open it... And it's not even 3/4 way done! It also just opened up it's first pitcher, which was already 2/3...
So here is my current grow list
Sarracenia:
Had to give up on Sarracenia for now because I don't have enough sun anymore because my condo complex put in a huge Ulmus parviflora right in front of my porch.
Nepenthes:
