How Y'all are!?
This is my first posting here, so be gentle with me.
I have a 15"-18" plastic pot full of Cape Sundews, at least two types(color forms) with an unknown Sarr growing with them. This was purchased at our local Fair about 5 years ago. It has since been infested with the...
Hi Everyone,
My name is Michael, and I'm a native New Yorker. I've recently bitten the CP bug, and I've started myself out with a nice Red Hummer's Cephalotus plant! I think I'm in love! I also own a 12 year old venus flytrap with a taproot that is 3-4 inches, along with a cape sundew. I am...

Some of my dews are making new growth that looks like it is dark and....burned.....what's up with that? The leaves come up all stubby and brown, almost like they were burned with fertilizer of something, but I don't fertillize them and I only use rainwater. I was wondering if low humidity would...
Hello, I am new here. I was referred to this site by spdskr. Right now I only have the basic CPs that are easily gotten from Lowes and local garden centeres. I hope to get other types one day, or maybe even raise a CP from seedingly!
I have a normal VFT, Drosera adele, Cape Sundew, Purple...
Just wanted to share a quick story regarding how vigorous and hardy capensis are. I live in Oregon and was growing some cape sundews in a bog garden last summer. I removed them when winter came and brought them inside. This spring I was looking at the bog they came from and was surprised to see...

Drosera trinervia - seeds ~30+
Suprisingly this small winter growing South African Drosera has the distinction of being the most widely spread of the South Africans, not D. capensis.
The plants were labeled "N560 Stromsvlei Kloof, 150km from Cape Town, RSA".
I don't know much about...
What we have here -- and soon to be in your hot little hands -- is Carnivorous Plants by Adrian Slack. It is the predecessor of Insect-Eating Plants and How To Grow Them and a true classic of the field. It is a first American, oversize hardback edition -- 22 cm x 27 cm (8.5” x 10.75”) -- in...
Hello. I'm fairly new to plant care in general, and the carnivorous plants i recently bought and planted in a long planter box are doing pretty well in my opinion (i.e. growing new traps/flowers), but i have a few main concerns...
Let me first give some background info in case it helps:

I was excited to receive two Nepenthes in the mail today. They are quite petite, but I still love them.
N. tentaculata and N. glabrata, respectively:

im in coastal new jersey....so 95 max and high humdidty....i was planning on putting my vft's, sarrasina, and sundews outside for the spring and summer. But will my cape dew, and two forked dew thrive in these conditions?
Hey everyone! I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, so it's probably about time to introduce myself =P I usually go by Kuro, but since this is a CP forum, I took my screen name from my sundew, Pandora. Pandora was a cape sundew I had last year, my first and only sundew plant. Unfortunately, I...
So... the first carnivorous plant I got, was my D. Capensis. Had it for now, well since august 08, and it must have been 6 months old, making it roughly two+ years old now. If I were to compare from when I bought it, it grew a good 6 inches, making it about 8 inches tall now.
Does this thing...
Well, I found a Drosera Regia on sale for a good price. However, I hear it's difficult to grow. Would I be successful at growing this plant with the following conditions:
1) On my screened-in porch which gets partial sunlight (Venus Fly traps, Sarracenia Purpurea, Cape Sundews, Mexican...
