I've been checking out E-Bay and there are some AWSOME Nep's for sale there. But they are all highlanders. I have an unknown Nep growing great outside now but I don't know if it's a high or lowland plant. I assumed it's a lowlander because temps around here are in the low to mid 90's in the...
I have a question regarding a Nepenthes ventrata that I have that is growing very well. I would like to acclimate it to my backyard, but I have a few questions I would like to ask about it.
1. I have a grove of about 10 pine trees in my backyard. Could I put it under the pine trees where it...
Here are a couple of Neps. I bought about 2 months ago. the first one is a medium size cutting that had about 5 pitchers on it when I bought it. It's been in a terrarium and has just gone crazy with pitcher production. I would guess it has produced about 8 to 10 new pitchers and has about 5...
Can I acclimate
D. rotundifolia 'Brookville, NJ'
D. intermedia 'Brookville, NJ'
D. rotundifolia 'Eastman, NH'
D. filiformis ssp. filiformis 'Brookville, NJ'
to my weather here in NE Florida? I mean can I put them in a bog garden or no? They grow inside okay but use too much water (6 inch pots)...
I'm kinda new at this nep thing.
A month ago I never even heard of these before. I have other CP's and was looking for such at a nursery and found this. I got this one last week.
New unidentified nep. I posted this one about a week ago in another thread. Some of the other members think it is...
I have tried time and time again to keep Ping's but everytime I am met with failure. My first bings I got around December of last year. They were P. Moranensis. Those were actually pretty hardy and survived for about 3 months and managed to even flower. However in a weeks time they seemingly...

I recently came across a number of these VFTs over Easter as a present from my girlfirend , and since getting them have moved them outside.
I've tried to get informatin from a number of websites and people and decided to grow them outside.
Well I first repotted them into a 6 inch pot...
I have two pings that I bought from lowes and I transplanted one and left one alone. Well, the one that was transplanted did well outside in a six inch container until I pulled it inside for fear of squirrel attack(many of my vfts died this way, but I did manage to eliminate that problem, hehe)...
I am attempting to acclimate my vfts to the outdoors since they simingly do NOT like it in my terrarium, my drosea on the other hand love it. So, the question is this, most of my plants are of course from lowes and HD, how long does it take to acclimate these guys to the outdoors? I am in N. VA...
Edit: Changed the temp info to better clarify temp range.
So, after a few weeks of speratic work, the first draft is done. Sorry, my editor hasn't looked at it yet so their may be like a million typos and bad spell-checker words, but I'd like to here your comments and sugestions so I can get...
I got three neps this past weekend in PA. Two of them look to have been through dormancy with some dead growth. I don't know as much as I would like about neps (I know one is an alcata I think, I am at work so I cannot check) , can I just clip them back? I also want to know if a pitcher is dry...

YIPPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Thanks to the "Tamlin Effect" and the generosity of Slizarus, I am now the proud owner of a young Sarracenia Judith Hindle
The tallest pitchers are between 5 and 6 inches tall, and he says it should be repotted (I will give it a few weeks to acclimate...

So I just got my hands on some D. falconerii and D. neo-caledonica in flasks and I am looking for a little advice on how to take them out and acclimate them. I was thinking of dropping them into my terrarium but I am not sure the humidity will be high enough so my new thought is in zip-locks on...
Today the Orchid shop was getting a huge shipment of Neps in and I snagged a 14" across Nepenthes bicalarata (not including tendril & pitcher) for $50! It's not a cutting but pot grown plant and it's only in a 5"-6" pot. I have the feeling I should repot it now since I just got it and it'll need...
