A flower from one of my weedy Utric's opened up today and its not what the pot is labeled as ...Its a nice little flower so I'd like to seperate and Id it. Any suggestions?

The grassy growth is around 2 cm tall, the flower is under 1/2 cm only standing 4 cm above the medium.

I'd like to get a clean pot of this one and add it some terria later on.

None of the side shots turned out so I'll go back and try again.

My first thought was U. bisquamata, but wait for the real experts.

I think it's an angry bisq. I have some that do that when upset about something.

Then again, I'm not an expert, either.

U. rostrata, previously known as U. sp. Chapada Diamantina. It's not a fully formed flower though.

There is a very good chance this is not a fully correct flower, for weather reasons it was without light and had more of a temp drop than normal for 2 days during the forming time. Hopefully the second spike will open soon.

U. bisq is likely 4-6+ different species and/or natural hybrids being passed around as U. bisq/U. partho...I'm hoping to get a better name than that mess.

I looked at U. rostrata and it was close but not close enough, now if my flower was misformed due to the condition changes that would explain alot.

Thanks a ton! That looks just like what I'm growing. There are a few small areas in the misformed flower that are different but they are very minor. Everything else looks the same.

That's an awesome plant!

The next flower opened up yesterday and it looks more formed. The other flower only lasted about 1 day, so thats more evidence of a mis-formed flower.

Here is a close-up of the bladders.

After a few more flowers I've taken a few more photo's. This set seems to be the fully formed flowers, and better photo's if you ask me.
