Hi everyone!! Just a couple things:
Winners if you haven't, please PM me your address as these are time sensitive. Please include your last name to ensure correct delivery.

I know some of you are new to this and have asked me for how to grow them so here is how I do it. Please keep in mind that this is how I do it that works for me. I try to use the easiest method that take the least amount of time and effort while still producing desirable germination rates.

I grow my pygmy sundews in an insulated but unheated shop window. It is a south window and the temps stay round 50-60 degrees F. I use rain water and water them when the water in the trays dries out, I don't let them get soggy. I grow them in pots that are at least 3 inches tall. Pygmy sundews have one long taproot, so they need a taller pot. The root is very fragile so pot them in the pot you plan to keep them in for the duration of their lifespan.

The Scorpioides can get big, so plant them with room to grow. I put four or five gemmae into a four inch pot.

The Pulchella is smaller in height, but it will spread. It flowers, produces gemmae and spreads through its' roots. I started with two in one pot and in one season, it spread to six or seven plants just from the roots sending up new plants. I plant four in a four inch pot, but you could do more if you like a dense mat of them or less if you want them to spread more. The flower is purple and it only opens for an hour or so. I haven't tried growing this from seed so I don't know if it is viable seeds, but the flowers look nice.

For the soil i put 50/50 peat perlite in the bottom 2/3 of the pot and about an inch of 3/1 perlite/peat on the top, them I sprinkle a thin layer of sand on the top. I place the gemmae on the surface and then use a spry bottle with rain water to water them in. I put them in either a terrarium or a ziplock bag to increase humidity. This Is not necessary but very helpful for germination. After the first four or five true leaves come up, they get a small dose of diluted maxsea and slowly open the bag over the course of a week or so. Then fertilize every two weeks to a month. I also keep the water level a little higher than the mother plant, about two inches but no more than half way up the pot.

The humidity, sand, and fertilizer are optional. They help speed up the growth but are not required. I do have some that I simply placed in 50/50 peat perlite and set next to the mother plant. They are growing just fine, they just take a little longer and are slower to start. I also brought a couple into the house and put on a windowsill in my kitchen. They sprouted in just three or four days with the ambient temp being around 68-70F. They are in a ziplock and in an east window.

I hope this answers your questions on how I grow mine. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post or PM me.
Thank you all again for participating and good luck!
-Flora

I am so glad everyone is starting to get theirs and plant them. Thank you for letting me know.

No, don't put them in the fridge, room temp is fine. Just be sure to keep an eye on them and don't let them dry out!

Happy Holidays to everyone and happy winter growing!!

Received mine yesterday, so exited to see how hey come out. I'm doing a little experiment, I am growing some of them in sphagnum and some in peat perlite mix. The ones in the sphagnum will go into a classroom to be over served on how they grow and the ones in the prat will go into my room for personal use

Mine arrived and were planted today, thank you flora! Mostly intact too, even though the person at work who picked up my mail thought she might have squished it >.<

I just wanted to quickly thank Tiffany again for this awesome giveaway. My first couple gemmae sprouted on January 3rd, about a month after she harvested them.
