Here is an update of my entry (S. alata). I thought I would share.

With make-shift snow hat. It's real snow hat was too tall and fell off.

And here is a much shorter leaf on the same growing point.

Alata is quickly turning into one of my favorite sarrs and that one is so purdy. Nice snow hat

It is becoming one of my favorites as well! I have two new alatas on the way actually and I am hoping for two more before the year ends. I love snow hats!
