Mixed Plant Photos (DUW)

Hey everyone! I decided to take a few pictures today, as somethings seem to be doing well for me, atleast for now! Hopefully the trend will continue.

N. veitchii - Now on the windowsill!

N. ventricosa flower stalk.. male I suppose

N. 'Lady Pauline' - Newly opened pitcher

N. hamata - looking good, after being repotted.

N. macrophylla - it is stalled, hopefully the fresh LFS will help

N. flava - Messed up pitcher, due to using dense media, but now it is in LFS! hopefully it'll really take off

and another pitcher coming along, looks normal

N. sanguinea - no complaints from it!

Sigh... and my N. x Mixta held onto them for such a while!

C. follicularis - get me a bigger pot!

S. flava - first pitcher of the season

D. madagascariensis - recovering from being blocked from the light in the terra

And some type of rhizomatous begonia that is doing very nicely, just for fun.

Your pots are all cute Just wondering, what is your potting mix and how often do you water? I'm trying to figure out how to better water my plants.

As for my media, well, it is rather here and there. So here I go:

For my N. Hamata and N. Macrophylla, I decided to use pure live LFS. This is normally not the best media choice for larger neps, but since they are small it is ok because, they will eventually be repotted when larger, I decided to use the smaller pots since LFS holds water, so, even though I need to keep on eye on them more often, it'll reduce the possibility of rotting, not to mention these are porous clay pots!

For my windowsill neps, they are mostly all potted in LFS/perlite/peat/bark, which drains quite easily, it dries out fast in the low humidity environment, that is why its better for the window than the terrarium. I water when the surface feels dry, I let the water run into a tray, and leave it there, for extra moisture.

I don't do this for my terra, as I am scared to rot everything... so I'm am much more careful when it copmes to watering the terra plants.
