'So great to hear from you, dude! Part of the trick with D. murfetii is that I always have a cup of root cuttings going so that in case of disaster I know there will be more plants later on. It also means that I always have little ones. 'Takes some patience to propagate this way but it is pretty much a sure thing. U. reneformis is the second greatest water tray imperialist of the plants I grow, just behind U. longifolia.

You might have to ignore the snowshoes and the water jugs. It really is a garage.
At this time of year the lines between winter and summer growing plants become blurred.

Thanks! When I open my garage door the flies are often attracted to the lights. 'Looks like that one simply died of "old age". You wouldn't think... I should drop it into one of the helis.

They catch mosquitos and gnats in warmer weather. Otherwise, I apply small amounts of weak Maxsea to the leaves with a hypodermic syringe. It is nice to see that you are growing this species.

Yes, good to see bluemax's garage greenhouse. His plants are clearly loving it. Those Helis are the best looking I’ve ever seen. New word proposal: "Greengarage".
Ha! I like it. The whole thing was Djoni Crawford's idea. She was growing plants in her garage and after hearing of her successes I decided to try it myself.

Some years ago I put a small pot of Utric. longifolia into the big terra (55 gallon tank.) Now I am badly needing to remove most of it as it has gotten into the 'sump', which is the water beneath the false bottom, and moved throughout the whole thing. While it's lovely when in bloom it is getting into everything and shading out the plants I actually want in there, and crowding them out of their water trays and soil, so it is time to take the plunge. I thought maybe some of you might find the overgrown state entertaining. I know I do.

U. longifolia seems to be the biggest offender for this! Quite the cautionary tale

I plan to add a small plug of U. humboltii into the sump of the tank, hoping that it will take off in a similar manner. I've never been able to get that one to bloom, ha!
Yes, humidity is important for this setup. It also allows a place for the condensing water to go as it drips down the glass of the tank while the plants can all have their own water trays. Some have fertilizer in them and some don't like to stand in water so I can sort of customize.

I am often amazed at how well some plants grow in the mid-winter temperatures in my garage growing area. It's kinda expected that the tuberous sundews will do well but I haven't expected Drosera villosa to just continue on as though it wasn't cold out there. The temps are in the high 40's to low 50's F. in the daytime and in the low 40's at night. Since I have been increasing the photoperiod for the whole area I am seeing things happen that I thought would require higher temps. Every year is full of new experiences.
