Hcarlton's Utrics

Man I love that livida "mexico" variety! I grow the regular one with small flowers and very faint purple tint.

The U. chrysantha I got from you has had flower stalks since Sept. but now that it is mid-winter they are developing buds. I'm looking forward to the color when they open.

Having to repot most of the Utrics again due to, the last peat bale turning out to have obnoxiously high tannin levels. Half of them bounce back fine, the other half...terrify me. On the verge of losing the chrysantha but have one more plug to pray it retakes...and soon need to repot this guy again because it's not spread out from its original plug into that peat, and is waiting for a better condition

Nice. I find U. longifolia to be an irritating weed when it starts to move through nearby pots. But when it blooms - all of that is forgotten.

It's growing in one other Nepenthes pot but I have it otherwise contained to its own space, and have for quite some time. Of course everything it's growing near is also entirely unsuitable for bladderwort survival...

A good strategy.

I had a terrarium that I had to break down and clean out due to U. longifolia having spread into everything. 'Kinda looked like the jungle was taking over!
