Fungicide question

I've read in at least a dozen post where a light dusting of fungicide is recomended for everything from putting dormant VFT rhyzomes in the fridge to a light sprinkle on peat/sphagnum to keep away "damp-off fungus" when trying to germinate seed. But none of the post specified a fungicide. Will any fungicide work? Is there a recomended one? Something that Home Depot or Lowes carries in their gardening dept.?
