NASC auction is OPEN!!
Ron, I am at about 550 feet above sea level and spend about an hour and a half watering two to three times a week.

elevation is deceptive in Hawaii. Where Keith lives there is a convective cooling phenomenon. His neck of the woods is is the valley of two mountain ranges that provide cooling that would be not that much different than 200-300 feet elevation higher on other locations in Hawaii with out this cooling. Micro climates make all the difference here. Suspect that we see something similar even at high elevation and being on a flank of the huge mountain. cool air rushing down and the mountain losing heat rapidly on nights without clouds.

Mach,

Thanks for the additional clarification. The microclimates are still something that amaze me whenever I am out and about here in Hawaii. If you move a mile in any direction here on Oahu (and I am sure the other islands as well) the climate change can be amazing.....

Can't believe I missed this thread! All your plants look awesome... love all the Tillandsia too! And that N. x Miranda on the first page is absolutely *massive* - :0o:

I got a chance to snap a few pictures as I cleaned things up around the shade house this weekend. I hope you enjoy them.

Wow. I wish I could grow truncata happily up here. Iwould be very intrested to hear how the Darlingtonias do in your environment. I have 3 pots here testing things

Thanks for the kind words!

Mach - I was a bit worried about the Darlingtonias, but was offered one in trade so I figured I would give it a try. So far (about three months) it seems very happy here in Mililani. Still have to see how it does long term, but so far so good...

Zu - The sib x spec x aristo is still very small but I really like what it ising so far.

Mass - The sib x max is flowering male... I think he is going to make a really nice daddy....
