D. anglica "CA x HI" & friends- Post your pics too!

Hey everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted pics, and I always enjoy seeing other people's stuff, so here are a few I was finally able to select down to. It takes me forever to choose which pics to keep when I use a tripod since I usually have 20 nearly identical pictures, with one or 2 looking slightly better than the rest :-/ lol.
If you have pics of D. anglica "CA x HI" or others, feel free to post your pics on this thread too.

Wow, your dews look wonderful!

...question, how do you capture seed without the seedpods at the bottom of the flower stalks falling all over the place while it's still blooming? wax paper cone around the bottom? Nylon stalking over the whole stalk? I'm going to try to catch some seed off of my pygmy dews and burmanni and stuff but I'm not quite sure how.

Thez for the longer flower stalks I milk them daily. twack them onto a sheet of paper and they drop seeds if ready. Works better for capensis so they don't hurl seeds all over the place as they sway in the winds.

Hmm..maybe I'll try that then...was hoping there was an easier answer XD

well, if you're growing indoors, you don't have to worry as much. I still use the same idea as mach though- I just take a piece of paper once approx 1/4-1/2 of the seeds are nearing maturity on a D. burmannii stalk (for example) and then "twack" them on the paper as Mach described, with the stem still attached to the plant. Just be careful so that the seeds don't fly everywhere, lol.
For other species that hold onto their seeds better, I usually wait until the entire stalk is dry, OR if the stalk has larger flowers that don't open all together, like D. venusta or D. oblanceolata, then you can carefully pull off individual dried flowers and then put them into seed packets.

However, when the Brevifolia get to this point, there's not much hope for saving all of them:

This is one that came from Mach Fukada:

So I've decided to take a sticky-note to the stalks and hopefully it works out for me (considering I don't top-water, they shouldn't get wet :p)

Jim- lookin healthy. I got mine from Mach, too- everything seems to come from him ;)

Hopefully that works out for you thez- did anything fall out when you tapped the stalk onto paper, or are they not quite ripe enough yet?

There's seeds in my new sticky-note contraption :-D
