Crestate pygmy

Hi everyone,

Several of my plants of D.nitidula x pulchella have developed crestate rosettes over the years. Not sure if this is common or not, but none of my other pygmies have shown this trait, not even nitidula ssp. omissa x pulchella(different clone from the crestate plants, but identical in appearance, except for the crestate rosettes). Maybe these plants are just dividing.
This plant also occasionally produces plants on its flower stalk.

This one reminds me of a caterpiller.

It is an occasional event in my collection as well, usually with the D. nitidula species.

Man Id love to get my hands on those, they look like little catapillars.
Have you found that the gemmae from those plants end up crestate as well?

In my collection, they do not. It is likely a response from compromised apical growth I think.

At least yours looks like a cute pink fuzzy catipillar. My D. scorpioides looks like a mouth full of crooked green teeth
