Adventures of an Alaskan Nepenthes Farmer

Nice update! Putting aside its glacial pace, how do you like the gland x burb? I've got one too and really like the color on the peristome. I'm hoping that the striping gets more pronounced as it gets older.

Thanks guys!

Nice bog! Love the red sphagnum. What is the species of Utricularia in the bog?

I think its Utricularia minor, but I am not a hundred percent sure, so I don't have it labeled.

It is fun to see your bog garden waking up. Which ping do you grow in there?

Those are all P. vulgaris.

I'm actually quite pleased with it. It's glands are very pronounced and it has nice red leaves and it also oozing loads of nectar out of its glands. In my experience glandulifera hybrids take a while to come into their own and I think this cross will be no different, but when it gets larger I am expecting it to be really awesome.

This last winter was its first and only winter so far and we had an incredibly mild winter so I didn't have to do anything. This next upcoming winter will determine whether the Sarracenia, Darlingtonia and Dionaea make it in the long run. All the others are natives and should do fine regardless of how I choose to approach winterization.

More scenes from the bog. . .

D. rotundifolia

D. anglica

D. capensis

It all started with just one from Andrew. . .

Fused Tooth Dionaea has only been outside for a day but has trapped three meals.

Really neat plant - N. glabrata x aristolochioides

N. dubia x singalana

Omg your capensis look so healthy. I would love to eventually do this but it would most likely be smaller.

Things from here and there. . .

Finally some cobras!

D. anglica

D. rotundifolia

D. regia not minding being outside

P. vulgaris going to seed

Living up to its name

D. capensis

From inside. . .

N. robcantleyi x hamata

N. robcantleyi

N. singalana x hamata

N. burkei x hamata

N. (lowii x vetchii) x campanulata

So many hamata hybrids... jealous....

Recently picked up a rajah x jacq from the source too, looks like it will take some time before anyone's has decent pitchers though...

This is the Nepenthes I have owned the longest now. I forget exactly how many years I've had it but I really do believe that it is a true miniature.

N. singalana x hamata

N. glabrata x aristolochioides - another incredibly tiny plant.

N. glandulifera

N. attenboroughii

N. glandulifera x burbidgeae

N. rajah x jacquelineae

You sure that is a pic of the rajah x jacq? I'm not seeing characteristics of either species in that....
Envious of the attenboroughii, mine's still less than an inch across
