i need to kick myself in the face for missing so many posts. that ping rock is LOVELY! done very well...though, in future reference, using some amano stones, such as ryouh or seiryo stones. :)

How do you do the pings-growing-on-rock setup? It looks amazing!

  • #25
haha thanks guys.

Not really sure what those are amp.. link? I have access to tons (litterly) oh the tufa rock and have another bigger piece in the works.

Drew I just placed them on the rock and let them do the rest. Its tufa rock. Its now bone dry. Theres beginning pictures on the second page I believe.

Is there any soil originally? And did the moss just grow? That rock alone is making me want to start growing pings.

  • #27
Nope no soil just straight onto the rock in little crevices. All the moss came naturally. The rocks were taken from a quarry and must have had tons of spores. I always leave about 1/2" of water in the bottom of its tray during the summer and it soaks it right up.

Killer collection! I love the ramispina and tentaculata! I hope my ram turn out like that (and I hope I get my hands on a tentac soon). Are you growing the garden tech in the same HL conditions? I'm trying to figure out whats best for mine.

  • #37
Thanks guys :)

Yup purely HL, 75 days 50 nights. I suspect it would grow well at any temperatures though.
