Hey guys I've found this on another forum and was wondering if any of you DIYers have used it?
http://www.pondshield.com/index.htm
It says non-toxic & non-hazmat, so... can it be used in-situ to seal an indoor wooden terrarium project without killing the houses occupants? People online are...
I'm wondering, if you were going to set up a fully planted vivarium, what misting system would you go with?
I have been looking at Mistking.com kits and they seem pretty nice however their cart doesn't work on the "Build it Yourself" page where you can choose which parts you want for your...
I have several bromeliads that I need to get rid of. I have lost name tags so I don't know exactly what they are. They are either guzmania Irene, Neoregelia Grace or NEoregelia Tangerine. All get a little too big for a vivarium unless you have a really big viv. I do, I have a 150 gallon, and...
Hi,
I'm currently growing 3 variations of nepenthes ampullaria, they are all growing well (producing new leaves and pitchers) and one is just starting to produce its first ground pitcher.
Some general info on my growing conditions, 2 T5HO lights, Temps 60-80, humidity 60-99%.
Now what I'm...
Hello From The First State, Delaware......
I found you guys (and gals) while Googling terrariums and plants....
Just to show you that I'm sort of into this here's one of my YouTube videos of my 55 gallon vivarium, completed just a little over three months ago...
Lets get right to the point, I'm thinking of setting up a vivarium and using a capillary mat as the only source of watering. The goal here would be a low maintance set-up that I would not need to bother with too much as I already have my "look at me NOW or I'm going to die" set-ups :-D...
Hi all,
First a little about why I'm here. I have a 3 toed box turtle named Sheldon who lives most of the time in a 40 gallon breeder tank where the humidity ranges from 55-80% and temps are 72 - 85F. Lately he developed a problem with gnats, and I got started thinking about incorporating CPs...
Ficus pumila var. quercifolia - I will take cutting off that wall and mail them off to you. They will be fresh cuttings and will not be rooted. These can be tricky to get started, but once they take off....good luck keeping them in line! High humidity and just moist substates give me the best...
I was lucky to find a grower to sell me one of his for cheap ($25)
well anyway, I received it yesterday and I took it out of the pot and planted it in my Vivarium
Can you guys tell me if it's just a regular one or a giant form? The seller didnt tell me what it was.
Here it is planted...
In my hunt for info on building my new vivarium / terrarium I ran across this video which makes building an all glass terrarium APPEAR quite simple if you have an extra pair of hands to assist.

Hi folks! I've finally found some parts I've long needed for building a custom landscape vivarium which I didn't know where to get until now. I found them at the most unlikely place: Rockler's woodworking shop. I'm going to go buy them on Thursday if they're available in the local retail shop...
First post here and thought I'd relay my experiences with this little one. I recieved my 1st few leaves of this plant about 6 months ago, it was a pitiful plant I ordered from a CP nursery (will remain nameless), sent bare root in a small amount of water. Really tiny for the price, about 1...
well i have this large exoterra terrarium that i used to use but now its just sitting there. i want to make it into a vivarium type of structure. the dimensions i think are 18 x 18 x 24. so its large. what i want to make it like a planted highland terrarium but with the plants in pots and the...
I'm playing around with different kinds of mosses, and if anyone has any cool Selaginella species, PM me. I've got Cp's or if you want, 4 kinds of giant club moss (great for vivaria)
Especially after the blue/iridescent one. I think it's called S. uncinata or something. I expect someone with a...
Hello, All!
My name is Amanda, and I live in Florida. I'll tell you now that I have brown thumbs. :-( I don't keep plants; I keep tarantulas. That's what has brought me here. I'm setting up a vivarium for an arboreal Venezuelan species, and I would MUCH rather use real plants than fake...
Hello all! I am new here, and just ordered a nepenthes ventricosa for one of my dart frog terrariums. Any tips? Thanks alot for your time, in advance!-Adam Hoyt
how would i go about lighting a vivarium 4 foot tall by 4 foot deep by 8 foot long?.....................not looking for high light plants to be at the bottom(the floor would actually be closer to 3 ft from the lights) just ferns and the like.....................
I read somewhere that these are vining type plants, So could you cut the top off of it without it dying if gets too big?
I need to trim mine because it constantly gets hit by the door everytime I open the Vivarium.
Thanks,
Andy
Well I am now the happy owner of 6 M. montana (Dwarf or Indonesian leaf frogs).
Technically only 3 of them are mine as I am just a way station for the other 3 till the weather gets better (their future owner is in the frozen North).
I have wanted to keep these for years and now I am positively...
