Wasn't sure which forum to put it in since it's a mixture of a few, but at any rate, has anyone ever had a problem with spanish moss and CP's?
I don't mean as a potting mix nor even a topping really. I'm setting up a tank and have a big ol' bag of spanish moss, so I was thinking of perhaps...
I know it's a pain to rename categories and topics, but have we mentioned this before?
We have many sticklers for the proper spellings of things here, especially when it comes to identification (not that it's a bad thing at all, i approve of it highly ), just surprised.
No, it isn't carnivorous, but the serrata in its name means serrated and this is a large, blood-thirsty plant. You won't see it catch a fly, but you can watch as it dismembers friends and family. Or, if you have more space than I do, you'd keep it away from traffic and have a big, eye-catching...
I've found an outstanding source for quickly obtaining a good number of named Tillandsia.
I have one big concern: These plants need plenty of humidity but most can't take a southern window exposure (at least according to some websites).
My bathroom faces the south. I would love to have a...
Hello:
I've gardened for 18 years now and have yet to solve the label problem.
This morning, my male cockatiel was trying to pull out a label because he viewed it as a fun new play toy. Outside, the squirrels love to pull out labels. Never mind what the unchaperoned children do!
How do you go...

Has anyone tried growing Acanthostachys strobilacea as an epiphyte - I've taken a spare plant and washed the roots and wired it to a piece of bark and hung it up - now we shall see just how tough it is - but what are the chances of it existing like a tillandsia?
Best regards
Chris
Here is the first one I brought in... S purpurea ssp venosa; I rescued this one from a small cubic plastic prison at Lowe's. In the foreground is a prolific U livida in bloom. Not seen, to the right of the utric in the same pot, is a D capensis seedling. The two largest pitchers have grown...
So I just got some Spanish moss (Tillandsia usenoids) by mail-order. It looks... kinda dead. It's vaugely green, but not nearly as green as the pictures I've seen. The foliage is still crisp, and cool/humid to the touch. It doesn't smell funky or anything, but it also doesn't look like it would...
hi all,
one of my Tillandsia is flowering, and i am wonder what kind of special care i should give it. i read in another post on here to fertilize it more often now, while it's both in flower and afterwards. i use a very weak mix of fertilizer and distilled water. i also use this mix on my neps...
Does anyone happen to be growing a form of Tillandsia tenuifolia besides bush and blue flowered forms? Also i'm looking for other scented flowered Tillandsia other than T. caerulea.
I have a few different Tillandsia to trade and could trade some cp's too.
I know a lot of people who have Tillandsia, and most people sadly have no idea what species it actually is. Whether they received it that way, lost the tags/the tags wore off (ahem), etc, it sucks. I figure, I love these things, they're really great plants. So...I figured i'd take pictures...
I brought many Tillandsias from Florida. And they are still looking fine, even I am sure that the fly were hard to them:) Hehehe.
Well, however, now, one of the Tillandsias opened a seepod, and there was maybe 30 seeds, I guess.
I harvested them all. and they look fine.
Has anyone tryed to get...
