Cotyledon ladismithensis "Bear's Paw"
Maybe it's not a long shot, I have no idea what you succulent growers on here have. ??? But I figured, what the heck - this is the only plant forum I'm on, so I might as well ask! :)
I've been into succulents for about the same amount of time as CPs, so...
My aloes seem lonely all by themselves out in the back yard, so I have been reading up on some succulents that would possibly keep the aloes company. Anyway, I have two general questions regarding succulents.
-While reading various care sheets, I came across the term “deep watering”. What does...
After reading DaveEngland's intro post where he wrote of a memory he had which might have sparked his interest in plants...I was wondering if anyone else had some memory of when/how their interest in growing plants was sparked. So, if you'd like to share, please do. :)

Hello,
I have a thriving P. John Rizzi and I'm wondering when they flower?
I heard in the succulent stage. If that's true, then, man! That's a bummer! Oh well. But, can anyone confirm this?

Last year or so, I used to be Slurm, but I was inactive for a while so my account got pruned.
I am back as the great cornholio because I am a fan of beavis and butthead.

lately both my P. agnata and P. gigantea have started producing rather fat and rounder leaves than the ones before them. Are they going into 'their' winter rosette? I know that they don't produce completely dry and succulent leaves like the others, so iare these their drier season leves...
seems healthy enough, but the vivid difference in the newer leaves versus the old leads me to think it needs something... what do you guys think?
or am i being retarded and its going to a succulent stage?
I just updated my growlist and am looking for different sarracenia that I don't have for my bog in zone 7. Also looking for drosera that will survive and thrive there. My grow list is mainly cactus, succulent, and passionflowers but also have a few winter hard palms and bananas. It may be too...
Hello. These plants came from Walmart and Lowes. Most of them were not labeled, or were labeled with a broad, common name. I'm hoping you guys can help me put a name to some, if not all my plants. Here are a few pictures.
1) This one I received as a "Tiger Jaws"
2) This one is a "Mosaic Aloe"...

This is a wonderful plant and if your collection is missing this one, now is your chance! Or perhaps you don't have a ping yet? Some people think pings are boring. Not so! They have...
A winter mint plant. I will put up a photo this weekend. This is a wonderful grower. I have it growing in my bog and it spread into my clay based succulent garden that was right next to it. It grows in full sun to full shade, dry to wet. It puts off a wonderful aroma and has pretty flowers. It...
This is the smallest orchid species in my collection with leaves to about 1" long and yellow/red blooms up to about 1/16th of an inch!
I grow it on a stick and it grows quickly flowers continuously when I remember to water and feed it often (as evidenced by the spent flower stalks). If I...
