Hi:
I received a Nepenthes ventricosa (sp?) from a New England grower to replace a sarracenia he had run out of.
I really like this plant and am thinking it would be nice to have a few since they grow year-round rather than needing to be dormant for the winter.
I am reading very confusing...
Hiya All-
I've started to add some Sarracenia to my wife's colorless garden and now I can't stop.
They've added not only color but a interesting and uniquness factor.
Currently we have: Judith Hindle, Danas Delight, Flave Red Tube, Mardi Grax, S. leucophylla, and a Copper Top.
As you can...
I am new to growing CP, and I bought a D. adelae and I don't have any windows that get any sun fot more than an hour or so. But I found a old reptile light (I think UV) That was kind of bright. the good thing about this light is it had two normal light fixtures. I put two 23 watt full spectrum...
Well, they may not be reptile or amphibian - but they do dwell in terrariums!
my first lil girl is Dozer... I've had her since i was in middle school (seven years ago), and she was just under a year old when i got her from the pet store. She's shed 3 times for me (the most recent being only...
Okay,
I got sick of not being able to grow tropicals tonight and just rummaged through my closet for something to sell to get a terrarium or SOMETHING.
Here's what I found...
A almost completely brand new Gamecube I don't use - With many games, many brand new
A nicked and scratched somewhat...
Ok ok, so I finally ventured to the world of plants, I,ve been a reptile hobbyist for quite some time, but I have to admit that carnivore plants are damn cool, so after researching a little bit I went ahead and set up this tank, tell me what you think....
Hello, along with growing CPs i also own a Columbian Tegu, but recently it has been getting really agressive and continuously tries to 'attack' anyone that passes by his living area. Is there a way that i can tame him down any? he's really pretty and soft.
the only problem besides him bieng...
The school conservatory has been doing a little cleanup lately, and because I had previously expressed interest in certain plants, one of my teachers contacted me about it. Apparently a little thinning of some specimens was required, and there was extra plant material available. I had come along...
Hi everyone!
I’m new to CP growing and am very interested in growing them and getting more!
I’ve just started a terrarium and am taking my collection as seriously as I can afford (for now)
It’s not too big (just a 50 gallon reptile tank) converted to a terrarium with 2 florescent 4 foot lights...
I picked this little guy up at my local reptile store last week. I have had bearded dragons in the past and love them.
I also got this pacman frog a few days ago. He is a little smaller than a golf ball.
Hope you enjoyed.

This weekend is the Philly Reptile Expo at Valley Forge Covention Center in PA. anyone out there going. Elgecko??
Go to www.philadelphiareptileexpo.com. for a listing of vendors.
I'm going with my daughter (dying to get a gecko) tomorrow at 10am.
As you all probably know by now, I've been downsizing my CP collection quite a bit and now I'm left with all these lights/light hoods that I don't need anymore. Here's what I have:
- 2 reptile light hoods that hold 2 compact flourescent lights (perfect to fit over a 5 gallon aquarium!)
- 2...

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Researchers scouring swamps in the heart of Borneo island have discovered a venomous species of snake that can change its skin color, the conservation group WWF announced Tuesday.
The ability to change skin...
Ok, first let me premise this by saying I'm stupid. I have never seen sphagnum moss (dried, live, or otherwise) in a store except in the reptile department of a fish store I frequent. They use it for growing all kinds of terrarium plants, but because it was intended for reptiles, they wanted a...
I found some coconut husk in the pet store that is labelled for reptile bedding. Is this safe for my plants? I know some coconut husk is high in salt content, but thought if this was safe for reptiles, it should be safe for my plants. Has anyone used this or know anything else about it?
Something I've been thinking about trying for some time now is getting a reptile light that emits UV rays to use on my plants.
All plants growing outside get UV rays from the sun. Regular florescent bulbs on terrariums do not emit any UV rays. I often have wondered if using a UV bulb would make...

I recently googled 'pine barren' for pics of CP there. I came across this wonderful site. I contacted the owner, Eitan Grunwald, for permission to post the link here. He very graciously gave permission to link, so I decided to post this in the general forum so that the most people can enjoy...
I just bought a few clamp lights at Lowe's today to place on top of some small terrariums. Are they safe to use on CPs, as in, will they burn my house down if I leave them on 15 hours at a time? I use reptile lighting for most of my terrariums which has special ceramic sockets for the bulbs...
