I thought I would share these picture with you so we can all enjoy them together :)
I recently got a lowii hybrid (suspected to be lowii x campanulata) from this nursery for only $14 usd. I went again recently and snapped a few photos.
Try IDing these plants if you can!
Nepenthes costs $14...
As it turns out, leaving a Roridula out in constant rain may not be the best idea - my plant has mold growing on some of the leaves now, especially in the cluster of new leaves at the growth point. I don't really have any experience dealing with fungus, does anyone have a suggestion?
I'm offering a single specimen of this eastern US native orchid. Plant is currently in a 4" round plastic nursery pot, but for shipping purposes it will be removed. I will send it bare root or with the loose media at the winner's discretion. Although it's flowers aren't very showy, the dark...
Anyone has an idea what's going wrong with my N. campanulata? The new leaves turn yellow and brown. What should I do?
In the same environment next to it is my N.x Gentle cutting (below). It looks healthy and active growing.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I'm not sure what's going on with a few of my plants and am looking for help or advice. Some look like they have some pest damage and a couple have fairly recent leaves, still with pitchers (at least partly alive), that are drying up from the sides of the leaves. My plants are all grown...
Just wanted to share some photos of my neps and their progression. I grow my plants under LEDs. The problem I struggle most with is low humidity but it seems like really bright light helps harden my plants and sphagnum (resist drought). Ive built a second grow box to house larger plants though...
Hi guys.
I have a small "terrarium" (more of a wood box, really) with my Nepenthes there. The terrarium is 2x2x2 feet. I have 2 CFL bulbs (27w and 32W, the lumen output is nowhere to be seen), 1x13W T5 (740 lumen) and 1x36W PLL (1770 lumen). All the lights are 6500k. They are inside the...
Well, apropos of a recent thread, I decided to start a new one here that is on-topic, of that off-topic discussion :jester:
When I was first starting out, in all the instructions I found, the proverbial 'they' described a certain potting medium, certain humidity, a grow setup, which plants...
EDIT: UPDATE: 12.16.15 --- Alright it's been a minute since I've posted for help, I re-potted the thing in the moss, I rinsed the moss, and I've been watering it in a tray with distilled water. It's been in bright light in a window, it's not in a tank or anything but it's still pretty high...
Title says it all. Got a pod's worth of seedlings which have sprouted (mother is N. jacquelineae), seeing mostly cotyledons so far although a couple are starting to develop their new leaves.
I've got a urea free orchid fertiliser that I've been using on my neps with success so far, when should...
A number of my Pinguicula are in Winter growth now. It's exciting to see them change.
P. macrophylla

I have a couple Tillandsia I'd like to rehome. They do well enough for me, but other than the cyanea they haven't bloomed. Here's what I have:
1. T. cyanea - large pup, should bloom in the spring
2. T. ionantha - cluster of 3 crowns
3. T. velutina
4. Noid, medium plant with very narrow leaves...
A couple of months ago I purchase from EP a specimen plant Nepenthes x [(lowii x veitchii) x (boschiana x campanulata)] and a day ago I notice it has a flower spike. The plant is just producing new leaves and pitchers so no mature pitchers yet, so I don't have a picture of the pitcher (I...
Drosera × beleziana or D. × belezeana or D. × eloisiana or ?
In 1891 the 5th volume of Journal de botanique. contained the description and drawing by E.G. Camus of a plant he named Drosera x beleziana. He described the plant as a natural hybrid of D. intermedia and D. rotundifolia. The specimen...
I have 20 Mimosa Pudica seeds offered in a giveaway. This is a non-carniverous plant. It is however a very fun, easy, and interesting plant to grow. The leaves retract if they are touched. But then they recover to full in a short time. It has a beautiful pink flower that reminds me of a fiber...
I would like to have a pot with a sealed bottom to grow my sundews in. It would be great for two reasons:
First, with a sealed bottom, it is cleaner, and with no tray of water separating the pot from the floor, insects can crawl into the pot. I don't have a problem regularly keeping pots well...
Giving this plant a second try after spending about a year growing Mexican pinguicula. This pinguicula macrophylla is brand new to me. I received it less than a week ago from a reputable nursery. It's growing about four inches from four 4' T8 lights, day temps around 80F, nights around 60F...
My grow list is very short :(.
Terrarium:
7 D. Muscipula 'Red Dragon'
2. D. Capensis typical (one of these, I'm not actually sure of, because under its current lighting, the leaves are turning pink, which I didn't think was normal for D. Capensis)
2 D. 'Floating'
Some strange spiky grass...
Hey everyone. Its been a few months since I have been active here. Its time for me to give back to the community! I will be doing two giveaways.
The first one is for people that are NEW to the hobby, seasoned veterans probably dont want these plants anyway heh. Requirements are that you have...
