Looking for nepenthes
I'm just starting out and don't have any CP's to trade back with yet. Hopefully that will change as I learn to propigate some of the easier kinds. What I do have are seeds of some rare cucurbits.
Seeds I have:
Ball Luffa Luffa operculata - These are rare little round...
So last night I received 6 types of Nepenthes seed I had ordered off ebay in the mail. After running by lowes and getting a 3 packs of the covered seedling trays, I got everything sowed. I used scissors to shred up 100% dried LFS, boiled it to sterilize it, and then filled 6 sets of cells and...
I'm planning to purchase some nep seeds from eBay. I'm a month into the hobby and I'm extremely eager to purchase more neps. I found a nice seed pack on ebay with 50+ seeds from mixed species. Here's the link...

From this years harvest, plant was self-pollinated from lack of other pollen donors. Nothing remarkable color-wise with the parent plant, remains mostly green for me throughout the growing season and picks up red coloring while dormant. It is a somewhat vigorous grower though (at least for me)...
These are seeds from our own Cindy. Siegfried Hartmeyer recommends for scientific accuracy they should be labeled Byblis filifolia 'Goliath' × guehoi(?). It is recommended that treatment with Gibberellic acid (GA3) be used to germinate these seeds. Flame/smoke treatment may also be effective...
I am looking for some fresh/viable heli/ceph or rare/nice nep seed to work on getting into tissue culture. If anyone has any I am willing to trade, or send you some plants back once/if they germinate in vitro for me.
I've had six of these Roridula gorgonias seedlings germinate so far.
Here's a couple of pics of two of them.
They are all at about the same stage, with none of them quite shedding their seed coats yet.
Once i notice that they have germinated in their communal group pots, i carefully...

Hello everyone! I love sarracenias and over the last couple of months i've bought, been gifted and traded for several different sarracenia seed. Theyre mostly hybrids because I really like the unique looks of some hybrids. I also tried, for the most part, to pick parents that are colorful...
Dear CP/TC fans!:-)
I took shots of some new cultures in jars today. Besides the species, that I have already posted (and thankfully, are grown into big plants by now), I did some sowing on gel few months ago and would like to share with you the pics of seedlings and plantlets:
drosera...
I have some fresh Proboscidea parviflora var. hohokamiana seed available for a SASE. Most of the seed was harvested in October or early November of this year (2011).
This is a US only offer.
For anyone that is also interested, I still have lots of seed from my 2008 and 2009 harvests...
I have 10 packets of a generic red with white spot Sarracenia leucophylla that was hand pollinated and crossed with another red with smaller white spots generic S. leucophylla. Each packet has lots of seeds. These are fresh seeds that have been harvested this past month. Made the mistake...
I don't have any plans to pursue this experiment, but the kombucha layers reminded me of gelatin/agar and I wondered if it would be possible to germinate seeds on it. I don't know the effects of bacteria/yeast, pH, or sugar content on seedlings.
So let's just say a little miscommunication with USPS lead to some Drosera seeds being left there for possibly a month. I was curious whether it's even worth sowing them as my guess is that they've been kept at room temp...everything I keep reading says that Drosera seeds can germinate after a...
Started a couple new plants because I am a huge fan of this plant and I miss my other one! Thought it would be fun to show how I am growing them and how they progress.
So an update since they have been growing for a couple weeks now since germinating and I just recently decided to take some...
If one has the patience to grow these plants from seed, it's an ecomonical way to add some interesting new mexi-pings to one's collection.
Recently, i had a chance to again try my hand at germinating a few Pinguicula species from seed.
And though the following pics are in no way stellar, as...
