how do you germinate vft seeds?

I have read that venus flytrap seeds need to go through a cold stratification
and then I have read from other souces that they don't need to go through a cold stratification.what is the truth?

No stratification.

Just sow them in moist medium and they'll grow.

I have hundreds of seedlings growing and never stratified them and always had good germination rates.

I have had them drop seeds outside in the bog that germinate before winter when weather stays warm, so my guess is they don't need stratification.
