Come and get 'em! It is difficult to do this, but I will be moving soon, and I don't want the headache of trying to take my plants with me. I have been growing nepenthes for almost 30 years and have many healthy and vigorous plants left in my collection, so here is an opportunity to get some...
Hey y'all -
So a very generous member on TF sent me some S. oreo seeds as a gift going on two years ago now. I stratified them, sowed them, and they started growing. Now it's time to give back to the community!
I had them growing under 24-hour fluorescent light. I can't provide proper dormancy...
Hey guys i had a quick question...
couple days ago i bought a 4' by 4' by 78" grow tent. i was gonna get this...
4 Bulb/8 Tube T5 HO Grow Light Hydroponic 2ft/4ft 48" Bloom Veg Fluorescent Lamp.
Im pretty sure, but i wanted to ask if this is good? i am gonna hang it on the top (maybe a foot...
I currently have 2, 2-foot 2-bulb fluorescent fixtures in my grow rack, seen below:

So within the past month I received some cuttings or an assortment of succulents. I need to get some pictures, but I currently have no idea of the species or anything. I potted them all up in 50/50 sand/peat mix. Of the 5 different plants, two already produced some new growths from the base...
I got a N. Sanguinea a couple years ago that's been through a lot, including partial consumption by my cat, though it has since recovered. Anyways, after a rapid burst of growth and pitchering, it hasn't produced any new pitchers in a couple of months without a change in care.
Anyone have any...
So I'm taking a trip to Lowe's today to get some much needed supplies for my grow rack.
Before I discuss anything, here is my current setup:

My main addition will be a hygrometer that will regulate a fan/Ultrasonic...
ROOT ROT:
Well, I'm really getting into neps. I don't want to jump in and spends tons of cash before I know my neps are thriving. Neps 1-3 I've had for around a month and they have obviously settled in, as they are vinining quickly and/or creating new leaves and pitchers. Neps 4-6 I've had for...
So after about a week of running my grow rack with it zipped up and high humidity, one of the light fixtures has been having trouble coming on in the morning, which I think might be due to the water corroding it or something related.
I just use 2 2-bulb, 2-foot fluorescent fixtures from Lowe's...
I just set up my new greenhouse. It's right in the middle of winter right now. I'm in zome 9-10.
The greenhouse gets up to about 65F-70F during the day, with around 60-70 percent humidity. At night, it drops to about 48F-50F, with much higher humidity. I think my three neps would benefit more...
I have did my homework on both plants in there natural environments, min temp is what I'm concerned about as I doubt I will ever exceed the 95 degree max temp in their environment. It appears like the campanulate only has lows of 75 degrees in its Borneo environment, but what I have read it...
Beyond Beginner's Information: Insider's Insight
This was originally written for my friend whose interest is piqued in Carnivorous Plants. I've worked very hard on this, but I don't doubt that perhaps I've forgotten anything meaningful or gotten something wrong. Please correct, or add other...
For the Petiolaris Complex, after discussing with the rep, I am going to get this for my birthday:
1 x 55 watt Bright Kit™
Item # 30551
$44.99
This collection of first class components lets you maximize the advantages of compact fluorescent lighting. Includes: one 8 ounce solid-state...
So about 2-3 weeks ago when I updated my grow rack I bought a second 2x 2ft fluorescent ballast. Already the first small section of both bulbs in it have burned out, and I think that has caused both of them to dim. Is the ballast bad? Some bad bulbs? I will say that it gets humid in the rack...
Grow shelf evolution :)
Dear All,
Gaining the inspiration from threads created by TheFury and Av8tor I have decided to start improving my Freestanding Wire shelf that I got from Lowes a while ago to be a better grow place for my little collection.
Here is how it looked like before with some...
So I set up a new 5"x3"x1.5" indoor green house and have the front flap open with all my plants now inside. I plan on setting up a fan soon so that I can close the front, put my humidifier inside, and circulate/expel air.
Question: I have 2 2 foot, 2 bulbs fixtures on the top rack with all my...
Since I just made some major changes to my growing tactics and conditions, I thought I should start a thread. Originally, my Heliamphora was all kept with the rest of my Highland Neps as well as all of my other indoor CPs, which is still how I have them, but it is now more that all my other...
So my collection has essentially tripled in size over the past few weeks and I'm running out of window space for my neps...I need a grow rack. The local lowes still has a few indoor greenhouses similar to this...
The other day I bought a fluorescent light fixture that I want to use for growing carnivorous plants. I paid extra for the light to come pre wired with a three-pronged plug and cord but, alas, it did not. ??? So instead of waiting an extra week for them to send me the cord and or have to pay the...
I recently received a Venus Flytrap and Drosera Spatulata in the mail. They both came pretty banged up. I left them in a bowl of distilled water for about two days, and transplanted both the drosera and flytrap in a clay pot (two separate pots) using only long fiber sphagnum moss.
A few...
