    Hi, Just started...

Hi I am very new to to growing cp's (it's my latest in a long line of obsessions) I am currently trying to seed several sundews and a couple od serracenias. I am aalso trying to rescue a couple of each I purchased in death cubes at my local megamart. I am having a hard time with certain...

    A thorough "Hiya!" [Pictures included!]

Well, I've been lurking around here for months, figure I should introduce myself and start immersing myself in the community. So... hi! I, for one, like to know what I'm getting into with someone, so I figure I'll offer the same to anyone that shares that interest. I'll write up some info on...

Tryin' to grow me some Sphagnum

So I'm really into the idea of growing Sphagnum moss these days. It just looks so nice with a CP growing out of it that I can't resist. But I don't want to pay shipping on a small pot of it when I have the option to try sprouting some myself first. About a month ago I took some of this LFS and...

    Sundew cycles

My Drosera Adelae dies and comes back from its roots for almost no reason. This does not seem follow the seasonal cycles though I might suspect its form hot summer heat. Its a death cube rescue. Is there any reason for this.

    SOEXCITED- Let Lolita Live!

Hi everyone... As some of you may know, this weekend is so massively epic for me that I can't stand it! And just simply because how big and important this is (well, atleast to me)...I thought I'd share: I will be driving down to Miami and taking part in the Let Lolita Live rally...

    New Drosera adelae (Lowe's Purchase)

I have removed it from the cube but kept it in its original media and pot. Thus causing less stress hopefully (after tips on here). I have it in a dish of water and on my desk under a 6500K CFL light. It does have dew on it although not red. I am told it is a Drosera adelae. I am, as always...

Red Pitcher from Lowe's today. Advice Please!

Ok, so here it is. I need advice on how I can keep this from dying on me. It is waaaay too pretty to let die like my last one from Lowe's. What do you all recommend? Key thing is it is in the "death Cube" and was outside in the greenhouse area. One leaf is brown. Should I add some fluid (Water)...

On a trip to the home improvement store...

So I went to a certain national home improvement chain with a blue facade yesterday to pick up some vermiculite and some sulfur-based fungicide. They had neither. But, after many days of searching for a local source of CPs, it seems that they had just received a new shipment of death cubes...

    Sending CP seed to others

BE WARNED! :0o: I just recently had a few different sources send me some various types of CP seed (ie. VFT, Sarrs & Neps) and in each case lost all the seed (or very nearly all at best) to the Postal Machine's "Crushing Jaws of Death"! This hasn't happened in quite a while to me, but...

    Swords-Inspired Lentibulariacious Chamber

Hello! After seeing those nifty Utriculariums that Swords built, I had to try my hand at it! Its just cork-bark (formally used to grow dendrobiums) cut and sanded to size to fit the large "Cube of Death." I have LFS in rain water at the bottom, into which I planted a plug of U. sandersonii...

Breeding, Hybrids & Propagation of Typ VFT's

I had gotten a death cube this summer with "Typ" VFT's inside. When I grew them out, there was one that turned out to be "dentate"! I didn't know that could occur from a mass of TC VFT's like this, as it was in the middle of a group of a half dozen teeny-tiny plants, overall no bigger than...

    A few Neps for trade

I've got a few Neps I'd like to trade for some Sarrs. Preference for plants with location info. I'd prefer to do one large trade if possible but if not I am willing to split plants up. N. rafflesiana BE 99 clone, would greatly appreciate higher RH which I can't provide. Fairly large plant...

    Hyper-convex traps - help

I went out today to check on my traps (the last time I checked on them had been 3 days ago to water them, which typically lasts 3 days), and I saw some bizarrely shaped traps. I have about 40 individual plants in two different water trays. Below is a picture of a problem that is very wide spread...

    Salutations from Stumptown

I hate introductions, haha. I feel obligated to write them, but I never know what to say. Might say I'm an artist, I draw way too much, paint, sculpt, etc. (I drew my avatar, just sayin') I have a lot to improve on, but doesn't everyone? Planning on starting a web-comic soon, but that's neither...
