The title says it all! I traded with some of you last year and built an amazing collection of flytrap cultivars. I moved to Indiana in early August, left the plants on a private patio, and returned a week later to find that someone stole everything that was there. Fortunately, I was out of...

Beyond Beginner's Information: Insider's Insight
This was originally written for my friend whose interest is piqued in Carnivorous Plants. I've worked very hard on this, but I don't doubt that perhaps I've forgotten anything meaningful or gotten something wrong. Please correct, or add other...
Here are a couple of shots of "Eden Black -- F1" (Cephalotus follicularis cv. "Eden Black" x "Eden Black") seeds in tissue culture media. Generally, I cold stratify half of any "known-age" seeds for ninety days; but thought it more prudent, given the age of the seed, to immediately put the F1s...

Here are a few shots of the various cultivars of flytraps enjoying the Summer weather in Northern California -- and catching more than their share of flies and wasps in the process. The fourth photo (of the pale-colored traps with the flies) was a "death cube" rescue from an Orchard Supply...

Even though Dionaea cultivars number in the dozens, I am far more interested in those which can actually perform; and that seems to be in the minority with many of them. Not so with the B52. By August, they're taking down sizable wasps . . .
Dionaea muscipula cv. B52

The first is N. ampullaria x sibuyanensis. I windowsill grew this for several months resulting in leaf growth, but no pitchers. I have since been growing it as a true lowlander and it seems to like it much better. As you can see it has a nice basal, and is...
