Venusian Eclipse 2012! RARE!

Meh... I tend not to be optimistic about things rare as this... an astronomer back in the 1400s I believe missed the eclipse because the boat didn't arrive at India in time so he spent the next 8 years in India building a massive observatory for the next time it passed over... on the day that it happened a cloud bank came over and he never saw it

The mercury transit isn't that difficult if you know what you are doing. Have seen it before.

I was kinda expecting a humongous dot to move across the sun, but I had to squint to see it. It was still cool !
