Utricularia calycifida light levels

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could clarify on light levels for U. calycifida. I know a few places have said they like lower light levels but how low is "low". What direction window would you grow them in? Any direct sunlight at all? Or if I was growing them under fluorescent lighting, how far would you put them from two 48" tubes? Thanks for the clarification!

Hello

Its my favorite utri :)

I grow my calycifida in 60-80% RH under a 24w T5 fluo tube. No full sun. The leaves can burn very easily.

Under your 2x 48", try over a meter away? lol
Or a north facing window.

Of course i speak from my personnal experience!

I'm growing mine under my mounted orchids. It seems to be working.

This specie have very fragile leaves, and too much light will burn the plant.
And too little light will not bring you a nice purple coloration.

For me, this is the perfect coloration for a U.calycifida:

Hope this help! :)

Wow!!! That is one beautiful utric foliage.

Beautiful!! I hope I can get it right. I just moved mine to less sunlight.

God that foliage is amazing. I love utrics but man, that one really stands out. I hate to admit this for fear of seeming really weird but I get kinda hungry looking at it. Color reminds me of arugula for some reason... or some kind of salad greens.... Hmmm.... I wonder if it is edible.... (j/k) :p

LOL
Yeah this plant look like a exotic salad :)
But a expensive one hah

By the way, your seeds are on the road, you will receive the parcell very soon.
