Trip Report - Butterfly Valley, CA

About a week ago I visited the Butterfly Valley in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Northern Californica. Located deep in the valley there is a bog bordering both sides of the road containing Darlingtonia californica and Drosera rotundifolia. Utricularia minor is said to be found there but I never found any.

That is beautiful. I would love to see them in the wild. I would love to be able to grow them actually.

Are they taking a mid-day nap in photos 1 & 3?

I believe the flattened pitchers are due to heavy snowfall.

I always thought Darlingtonia grew at seeps. And obviously, D. rotundifolia doesn't mind being waterlogged.
