I have a small division of S. leucophylla Hurricane Creek, AL up for grabs for postage. Please read carefully:
Although this plant was given to me as the cultivar 'Hurricane Creek White' it rarely produces the large wide pitchers in the fall as described by John Hummer. Because of this I do not feel it qualifies as the cultivar. I have traced the provenance of the plant back to John Hummer. It may grow differently for you depending on your conditions but the grower that I obtained it from noted the same growth habit.
The rhizome is about the size of my thumb and unfortunately much of the roots snapped off as I was trying to untangle them from the main root ball however there are enough roots that there should be no worries of survival (I've grown rootless Sarracenia rhizomes before it may take a season for root development before pitcher growth takes off).
comparison of fall pitchers, the plant in question is on the left. The pitcher on the right is a seed grown plant and many years younger.
Just sign up your forum name below and I'll pick one at random sometime Tues (2-18) evening. Shipping USPS Priority via paypal works best.
