Root cuttings of Sarracenia..

marf

growlist
Hi guys!
I was wondering anyone has ever tried to make a cutting from the root of Sarracenia?
If so, how did he do?

The only tried and true vegative success is to take rhizome cuttings. Leaf cuttings *are* possible with certain species (NOT ALL!) but generally don't work.

Root cuttings don't work either.

The best way is to divide growth points.

Don't waste your time ;)

was not comfortable to ask ..: D
i here by me, many are able to obtain cuttings pitcher.
Slow but ..
I wanted to know if any of you ever tried to compare the various methods

I've never done it on purpose, but there have been times, while pulling weeds, I've accidentally pulled off an entire pitcher and planted it, and it survived. The key is to make sure there it at least a little piece of the rhizome attached, as well as a couple of roots. I don't recommend doing it unless it's a large plant with lots of growth points, in case it doesn't work.
