The sand came from a pool supply store. It is for pool filters, pure silica sand.

I'm very happy with the color of the plant. I have my typical growing in the same conditions and does not color up at all. I got the plant from Charles Brewer last year when I was at John Hummer's Wetland Ecology Day.
