Pic of the Day

A Drosera prolifera showing some very Dionaea-esque trapping mechanisms.

That is really cool! Nice pic, drew. If I'm not mistaken, rotundifolias close around their prey in a similar fashion, right? Also, is that a dew gland on the stem of that leaf...? Weird...

lol I didn't even notice the tentacle. Rotundifolia wraps up similarly, but it doesn't bend so neatly in half. This is an odd trait, or so I think.

I'm really enjoying the flowers on this U. nephrophylla x U. nelumbifolia -- so just had to snap a pic .... The bulging 'eyes' is a real hook for me ...

(taken in-situ -- can you tell ?)

That thing really took off, looks like it never skipped a beat with its traumatic beginnings...another myth dispelled? That is one fat and sassy droso and thank you for posting its progress!

it stopped growing for about a month or two when I repotted it, but after that it was off and running.
Can't wait to see it this time next year.. I love it, thank you.

Mass, nice pic! Is that veitchii?

N. Tentaculata, an old pitcher. A little blurry, sorry

hello all :) so my (vent x sib) x TM opened its first pitcher since arriving a couple months back. I am in love with this thing already so figured it'd fit for a pic of the day post for sure.
