New heli rack early results

Everybody seems very happy, new growth popping up everywhere... and the reduction from the 6 bulb to 4 bulb doesnt seem like it hurt much. I wont know for sure till the pitchers mature and age a little.

Thanks for looking,

Thanks Jamie, Liz.....

I had hoped the new system would work, but its doing better then I expected.
The surge of growth is awesome and I think the color will be acceptable to me.
Many pitchers start off green only to go red with a little age.

But to be honest, they were being abused for the last 6 months....

They happy now :)

Amazing! Your Heli care thread really saved my H minor. Thanks for posting that:)!

Well thank you dionae, that is indeed a compliment.

FWIW, the next to last image if one of the plants on the lower 4 bulb T8 rack, GE Chroma 50 bulbs in it.
Giesemann's in the top 4 bulb T5 rack.

Jeff, I use Giesemann Aquaflora and Midday bulbs in my T5 rack. In my T8 rack I use GE Chroma 50's (Sunshine) bulbs

(The Chroma 50's are similar to the Giesemann Middays, 5000k w/high CRI)

I have no specific knowledge of the terra neon.... can you send a link to their spectral curve?

Thanks Jon,

I had some concern going from a 6 bulb down to a 4 bulb, while at the same time increasing distance to bulbs by a considerable margin. They went from less then two inches for the tallest helis to now 8 or more inches.
Early indications are that I will still have decent color, maybe not as good.... but respectable still yet.
The increased clearance sure does make feeding the pitchers easier as well.
Ill give it 6 months and if the decrease is too dramatic Ill do what it takes to get the 6 bulb back in operation.

I think one advantage I do have, is now my bulbs can run much hotter. So this is making up some of the ground lost in the other two variables.

Thanks for the pic. !st impression is yours doesn't seem to have the same pitcher shape and also has more of a 'minor'-type nectar spoon.

For those who are wondering what we're discussing - these two pulchella's come from same tepui:

(apologies for quality of 2nd pic - thru glass w/ rampant hamata growth... - soon to be rectified)(protrusion between 2 large pitchers is emerging flower stalk - soon to be chopped).
